Job Summary
Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans/test cases to ensure Websense solutions meet high quality standards. Develop all kinds of testing tools or programs to do white-box test for Websense products key components on the source code level. Review the architecture of Websense solution and analyze the performance of Websense solutions. Receives assignments from QA Manager and provides accurate estimates of testing tasks. Clearly reports test progress and quality risks.

Essential Functions
* Develops and executes the test strategy (plans, cases, etc.) for assigned areas.
* Develops testing tools/programs in terms of the test strategy (plans, cases, etc.) to do white-box functional test and performance test.
* Participates at every stage of the SDLC from requirements thru post-ship support and maintenance.
* Logs defects into issues database and tracks them throughout closure.
* Configures workstations and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing.
* Report test results and maintains schedules for assigned features and functionality.
* Provides technical expertise on specific products, operating systems and specialized environments.
* Assists technical services staff in the resolution of customer escalations.

Expectations
* Excellent knowledge of C/C++ development in Linux/Unix and Windows
* Excellent knowledge of debugging on Linux/Unix and Windows platforms
* Good knowledge of Java, Perl and Python development
* Good knowledge of networking programming and communications protocols and, especially TCP/IP,
* Good knowledge of application layer protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, FTP, SMTP and SSH.
* Good experience with VMware virtual machines.
* Demonstrates the ability to analyze a problem and complete detailed reports.
* Able to methodically produce test conditions which uncover functional defects in the product and is able to diagnose root causes
* Proactive in gaining in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to testing of company products.
* Possesses excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
* Highly technical: passion for technology and a quick grasp of how things work.
* Highly team oriented; able to thrive in an agile development environment with few barriers to creativity. Passion for quality with testing.
* Excels in an environment of continuous change.
* Strong sense of accountability and a track record of meeting deadlines.
* Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English.

Qualifications
* Education: BA/BS Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Experience: 2 - 4 years' experience in software development.
* Skilled in C/C++
* Excellent analytical and design skills
* Firm understanding of TCP/IP
* Good command of both written and spoken English

Preferred
* Experience: 1 or more testing enterprise software solutions are a plus.
* Good knowledge and formal training in Quality Assurance technologies and methods is a plus.
* Good knowledge of Java, Perl, Python and Windows Scripting Language/Linux Shell Scripting Language is a plus.
* Database query experience with MySQL, MS SQL Server is a plus.
* Experience with developing/testing Anti-virus/Anti-spam virus engines is a plus.
* Good knowledge of Linux kernel is a plus
