Job Summary
The Supervisor, QA Engineering provides assistance to the QA Manager as well as performing hands-on testing and other QA tasks. Individuals in this role provide leadership, expertise, and hands-on testing as a member of a QA team responsible for ensuring the quality of the company's products. The Supervisor provides technical advice and supervision to more junior engineers. As a member of the QA department, the Supervisor works with a variety of groups across multiple disciplines to streamline, integrate, and continuously improve the effectiveness of the QA strategy for an assigned set of features.


Essential Functions
* Develops and executes complete test strategies for assigned features including but not limited to verification of functionality, performance and scalability.
* Assists QA Manager in developing work plans, maintaining schedules, coordinating activities, and monitoring the completion of tasks within time and cost constraints.
* Actively participates and provides value in reviews of requirements, design, schedules and test plans; identifies and resolves potential quality risks to scheduled releases, service packs, and hot fixes.
* May lead bug scrub meetings and/or represent the QA Manager in these meetings as requested.
* Serves as a customer advocate, gathering customer data from technical support, beta programs, sales engineers and other sources to enhance and improve test strategies.
* Develops and maintains expert knowledge of the operating environment, functionality, interfaces to external systems, and any third-party dependencies of assigned products/features.
* Identifies opportunities to apply test automation and/or outsourced testing resources and makes recommendations to QA manager. May serve as primary point of contact for outsourced testing resources.
* Continuously streamlines and improves the testing life cycle to ensure test planning, execution, and reporting are effective, agile, and coordinated.
* Works closely with the QA manager, development, product management, documentation, and technical support to ensure that the quality objectives of all projects are met within schedule constraints.
* Clearly communicates QA results, concerns, and project status to the QA manager and other stakeholders in a timely manner.


Qualifications
* 5+ years of relevant work experience with strong education background (Engineering majors from reputed institutes)

* At least 2 Yrs of experience in managing software test teams
* Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing, automation testing and a thorough understanding of SQA methodologies
* Strong focus to drive the product quality to the zero-defect stage, and understanding on concepts like regression testing, functional testing, integration testing, system testing, performance and load testing
* Excellent communication skills
