Currently we are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. The Service API Engineering Team is responsible for hooking together all the services that make Cloudant tick into a single, cohesive and performant platform that make running a cutting edge DBaaS platform possible for users ranging from experienced database campaigners to hobbyist application developers.

You will develop, enhance, deploy and support code for running and managing database clusters, users, organizations, backup and other database support products. We work primarily in python with an emphasis on HTTP/Representational State Transfer (REST) services built in Flask. You will need to have a grasp on python, with multiple years of experience developing with it as a first language.

Responsibilities:

Design, Develop, Test and Deploy your code on our cloud based architecture.

Work closely with Cloudant’s Databases and other services to construct products for both internal and external clients.

Work as a member of the Service API Team, participating in our version of the Agile/Scrum development process

Expand and grow the Service API Platform capabilities to solve new challenges and add value to Cloudant for our customers.

Contribute in a DevOps role, supporting operations and infrastructure as needed.

Required

Bachelor's Degree

At least 3 years experience in Python

At least 3 years experience in software development

Basic knowledge in developing REST frameworks

Readiness to travel 10% travel annually

English: Fluent

Preferred

Basic knowledge in SQL and NoSQL

Basic knowledge in Ruby

Basic knowledge in virtualization tools

Basic knowledge in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment

Required
