About Us
Fast Trak is a global organization, part of Enterprise Solutions, belonging to GE Healthcare Life Sciences. The team consists of application scientists, supporting the Life Sciences BioProcess customers with Training and Education and Process Development Services. The Fast Trak scientists train customers in typical up- and downstream processing principles, through standard and customized training programs, either in a Fast Trak center, like Piscataway (NJ, USA), Munich (Germany), Bangalore (India) or Shanghai (China), at a satellite site or at a customer site. Furthermore, Fast Trak scientists provide customers both with consulting services and hands-on support for their more complicated bioprocess downstream purification challenges. Founded in 2006, Fast Trak China is one of the four centers in different sites of the world. Currently, Fast Trak China team includes 9 application scientists with expertise in chromatography, filtration, cell culture and production. They deliver more than 30 training courses each year in Fast Trak China Lab or in customer sites. Besides, Fast Trak China team scientists applied their expertise to developed 20 scalable processes for biopharm industrial customers in 6 years. In addition to these, Fast Trak also provides consulting services related to process validation, help the local pharmaceutical manufacturers to improve their product quality control. To accomplish these services, Fast Trak China establishes five laboratories located in the 3rd floor of east building, Chinese Technology Center.
Role Summary/Purpose
GE is an equal opportunity employer, offering a great work environment, challenging career opportunities, professional training and competitive compensation.Responsible for executing Life Sciences application support programs to demonstrate customer value of GE Healthcare Life Sciences products; train the customers and support them in their application challenges like bioprocess development, scale-up and tech transfer. Work closely with modality product development teams, regional field leaders and end-user customers to deliver technical education courses, process development and consulting services.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Quickly establish credibility with the customer in bio-manufacturing space. 2. Identifying, soliciting and securing application development collaborations with key account customers. Conducting Experimental work on customer projects. Delivering final reports on experimental work performed for customers. 3. Adapting courses prepared by worldwide Fast Trak organization to the Chinese market needs. Coordinating training courses with the sales department; planning and implementing training events. Conducting lectures and lab on upstream bioreactor and downstream purification separation techniques including chromatography & membrane separation, cGMP implementation and SFDA regulations銆� 4. Understand marketing trends to support sales department and customers with expert advice. Work closely with field application specialists and support customers by offering trouble-shoots, bioprocess development services and consulting. Offer on-site support to customers for approximately 30% time. 5. Support GE in maintaining scientific leadership by designing and delivering creative solutions to customer’s manufacturing and analytical challenges. Add value to GE’s customers by identifying continuous improvement opportunities in their bio-manufacturing processes and implementing innovative process enhancements. 6. Develop expertise for downstream process development, operation of large scale bioprocess equipment and SFDA regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements
1. Master or PhD chemical-engineer or biochemist. Have several (>5) years of practical industrial experience in process development or production of biopharmaceuticals 2. Practical, hands-on, industrial experience and theoretical knowledge of the basic techniques used for upstream bioreactor operation and downstream purification of biopharmaceuticals (filtration, chromatography, centrifugation, etc.) at pilot or process scale. Good understanding of the basics of process economy. 3. Accomplished presenter to critical audiences or teacher. 4. Good people skills. Proven ability to work in team environment and able to develop lasting working relationship with customer. 5. Excellent written communication skills in English and Chinese. 6. Proven publication record. 7. Able and willing to travel up to 50% of the time. Willing to work on projects for short periods in other countries. 8. Socially competent to handle sensitive customer relationships, demonstrated problem-solving skills.
