Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

Work in a global and multi-disciplinary team, developing large electric drive systems product in diverse and emerging Power conversion applications. You will be taking leading design roles for: - Design and test for high power semiconductor devices and passive component such as inductor/transformer, capacitor, harmonic and EMI filters - Circuit design and anaysis including simulation, testing, and optimization - Electro-machanical-thermal design and EM simulation for large power converter - Competitive analysis and developing product specs - System design of high power converters and interface control with grid and mechanical load; - Algorithms development for power conversion and motor control - Reliability and life time analysis from component to system

Qualifications/Requirements

* Master or above degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related technical field of study with more than 5 years experience;* Strong product design experience and analytical skills in high power electronics products* Strong hands-on lab experiental skills* Solid understanding and experience in integrated electrical-mechanical-thermal design approach* Expertise in high power semiconductor device operation and testing, such as IGCT, GTO, IGBT;* Expertise in high power passive component design and part selection, like passive and EMI filter design, power converter protection design, sensor, cable, etc.;* Expertise in failure mode analysis and establishing design rules for product;* Experience in simulation and design tools such as, Saber, PSPICE, Matlab/Simulink, Ansoft Q3D, ProE.* Good system engineering experience for high power converters, such as large motor drives, FACTS, UPS, etc.;* Field experience in large drive applications* Knowledgable about state-of-the-art high power drives technology and products* 'Can do'attitude, embrace challenge with enthusiasm* Quick learner, self starter* Team player with strong communication & interpersonal skills* Goal oriented with strong ability to deliver* High curiosity with broad technical interests * Good written and oral English skills

Desired Characteristics

* Experience with IGBT, IGCT, GTO or LCI power converter product design* Experience in six-sigma and Design for Reliability methodology* Experience with GE NPI process* Team leading experience and capability* Knowledgable about relevant industry standards* Knowledge of Energy power conversion applications, such as Oil&Gas, Renewables, offshore, Metal, Mining, Rotaching Machines, etc.
