Role Summary/Purpose

· Execute on the cutting-edge research programs in X-ray system and application through close interactions with the GE global teams. · Perform research on the design and development of advanced X-ray system concepts. · Develop and perform research to enhance the current X-ray product capabilities. · Present research at conferences, publish in leading journals and develop patent disclosures. · Stay up-to-date in technological development in the field of expertise.

Essential Responsibilities

· Perform X-ray physics analysis, modeling, simulation and experimentation. · Develop advanced imaging reconstruction and processing algorithms to improve image quality or reduce dose. · Initiate and develop innovative system designs to reduce product cost. · Develop prototype X-ray systems with mechanical and electronics groups. · Understand current market needs, state-of-art technologies in X-ray imaging and clinic applications.

Qualifications/Requirements

· Ph.D. in Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related fields· Medical physics, medical imaging, high energy physics or nuclear science background· Experience in medical imaging systems - Preferred· Physics modeling and simulation capabilities - Preferred· Experience in imaging reconstruction and processing algorithms - Preferred· The candidate must have passion on performing research in X-ray and have strong desire to seek a R&D career in medical imaging systems· Able to learn quickly and generate innovative ideas· Strong analytical skills· Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a global team· Self-motivator and team player with strong communication & interpersonal skills, good command of English
