Role Description
Manage the Web Marketing activities for Greater China with the help of subordinate staff. Drive increased revenue, conversion, and channel loyalty to the company's direct channels through proactive ownership of the merchandising and content strategy of IHG's global direct branded and regional websites. Act as the editor-in-chief for all regional brand websites, managing all merchandising efforts, editorial calendars, and a test & learn agenda. Deliver a best-in-class digital guest experience by ensuring a strategic balance that optimizes customer experience, a positive brand experience, relevancy, and revenue. Responsible for effectively collaborating with internal brand teams, global and regional teams, product management, technology, legal, revenue management, and other cross-functional departments, to ensure merchandising and content needs are met across regional desktop and mobile websites.

FINANCIAL RETURNS
• Own and manage website content and onsite merchandising for all IHG brands and be the subject matter expert for regional content of global brand websites in English and Chinese.
• Develop and implement a merchandising strategy with an understanding of the company's overall marketing calendar and product strategy. Work with brand and regional marketing teams to coordinate merchandising initiatives and ensure brand and market cohesion.
• Identify and recommend new site content and experiences to address customer needs and improve conversion and increase revenue via web and mobile channel for both inbound and outbound markets.
• Ensure localized customer needs are met through unique functionality and tailored merchandising and campaigns. Handle translations internally or through 3rd party partners where needed.
• Establish a marketing roadmap for all agreed upon goals and tactics, leverage web analytics & insights and onsite search behavior to monitor and prioritize efforts, and measure progress against KPIs.
• Develop a test and learn agenda, design and facilitate multi-variate testing for regional websites in order to optimize guest experience for GC consumers.
• Understand and integrate SEO best practices whenever applicable and work with global SEO team to roll out regional support.
PEOPLE
• Work with regional, brand and channel Marketing Managers. Provide them with the necessary avenues to support their campaigns.
• Engage with user experience and product management teams as necessary to collaborate on new merchandising and eCommerce functionality.
• Liaise with global WIM/DRM teams to ensure awareness of marketing programs and interactive initiatives. Identify opportunities for synergy or unique regional opportunities and jointly implement strategies and tactics to address these with the regional teams.
• Manage global marketing programs coordination by supporting global teams and working with regional web product managers to deliver global programs to Greater China.
• Provide key regional feedback for global marketing initiatives with a localized lens to ensure optimal experience for GC market.
• Act as an advisor and subject matter expert to subordinate staff or cross-functional teams to help meet established schedules and/or resolve technical or operational problems.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Experience –
6-10 years progressive work-related experience in internet business, eCommerce, interactive/digital marketing, or creative/visual merchandising. Experience in the hotel, travel, or retail industry preferred.
• Demonstrated “Internet literacy”, both theoretical and practical knowledge of how the Internet works, how it can be used for both informational and transactional purposes, and the basic evolutionary history of the medium.
• Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale marketing projects from conception through implementation.
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese for the purpose of providing information to global teams, regional teams, vendors, and senior management.
• Demonstrated creative talent (conceptual and/or graphical) as evidenced by prior marketing campaigns.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement channel marketing campaigns. Interactive/Internet marketing or agency experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required. Proficiency in MS Project, HTML authoring tools, and graphic design/image manipulation tools preferred.
• Must possess superior problem-solving skills combined with team facilitation skill.
• Must be a team player, have strong interpersonal skills, and work well independently as well as part of a team.
Education –
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
