Objectives:

• Protect BASF Group’s legal interests and provide legal advice on daily operation matters
• Ensure legal compliance within BASF Group

Main Tasks:

• Providing legal advice to BASF group companies and business units in China on daily operation, including: reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts and other legal documents on daily operation; and advising on compliance and regulatory issues; and advising company secretary to handle the company secretarial issues.
• Advising and negotiating China investment projects, including: M&A activities, including conducting legal due diligence and negotiating and drafting contracts locally implementing of global M&A activities; handling JV or WFOE establishment or restructuring;
• Advising new laws and legal environment concerning the company’s business strategy as well as modified business models;
• Providing legal training, e.g. contract law training as well as compliance program training.
• Providing legal and administrative support to General Counsel, BASF China and other legal counsels in mainland China.

Requirements:

• University degree in Chinese law, and overseas legal study is a preferable, but not required, qualification;
• Four or more years working experience with law firms and/or multinational companies' legal department;
• Excellent English and Chinese in writing and speaking;
• Team player, but working independently with focus on result and achievement; pleasant and highly responsible work attitude;
• Strong communication and conflicting-handling skills; and good time management skill and ability to meet deadlines under pressures.
