Responsibility:
The General Manager is fundamentally responsible for the day to day client services relationship and strategic business development of the geographical region. This senior manager will oversee all daily responsibilities of the client relationship management and message/creative management groups of the GEO. The key areas of focus being:
- Employee growth and professional development.
- Interaction and management of the GEO relationship with client.
- Successful event delivery and supplier relations as it relates to event marketing and creative services.
- Responsible fiscal management.
- Reporting and communication with the VP.
- Employee Growth and Professional Development:
? Promote ideologies of teamwork and champion the shared vision of the TBA/Client event marketing team.
? Drive the development of regional staffing plans. Define roles and responsibilities and assist in balancing workloads within each team. Recruit exceptional individuals with talent and enthusiasm. Promote career path and planning, allowing staff to feel enabled and responsible for direction.
? Support training and continuing education for staff. Prepare process documentation and contribute to accuracy of Operations Manual. Encourage staff participation in industry related conferences course work, and events. Create an environment in which cross training is promoted and staffs are able to engage in new work experiences.
? Support interface of Account Directors, Account Managers, Event Managers and Message Engineers with other departmental groups regarding client relations, event objectives, marketing and branding, booth architecture, graphic production and financial management.
- Interaction and Management of the Regional Client Relationship:
? TBA/Client management leader with TBA GEO client service functions reporting directly up to this position. GEO functions are; Client Services (Relationship Management, Creative Services and Event Marketing).
? Build organizational capabilities to deliver Client’s Event Marketing priorities bottom up and top down. GM needs to own the GEO relationship and cultivate business practices and relationships that exceed Client’s expectations. These include; 1) creating team structures and tools that maximize our ability to achieve flexibility, adaptability and speed. 2) Grow skills and marketing acumen through an investment in training and internal educational tracks. 3) Increase headcount wisely to manage outsource strategy to insure strategic results are obtained. 4) Continue aggressive development of strategic vendors/suppliers to increase our bandwidth within the region as it applies to creative services and event marketing.
5) Meet the client’s expectations of executing the Integrated Global Event Marketing strategy and providing consultation on localized interpretation and execution.
? Deliver customer value at all levels of our company. These include; 1) Enhance Global Links compliance and understanding. 2) Utilize the worldwide specification/guidelines for branded architecture and messaging to achieve common look and feel for branded architecture /messaging in both large and small-scale solutions. 3) Deliver consistent/flawless execution results from all resource groups. 4) Provide strategic value by reviewing event-marketing plans for each regional Client unit with TBA worldwide to enhance Client’s portfolio investment objectives to achieve targeted results.
? Grow relationships with all Client IMC, Event Marketing and BU groups with the GEO. Develop a program to elevate TBA’s communication effectiveness within Client’s groups.
? Interface with other Client partner agencies to grow cross-function efficiencies.
- Responsible Fiscal Management:
? Promote responsible financial management through maintaining cost controls and managing to the department’s operational budget. Review and approve all financial components relating to event marketing and creative services departments in the GEO.
- Reporting and Communication with the TBA VP:
? Report weekly on all client service functions in the region. (ie. issues and concerns, key initiatives, to-do list, best practices.)
? Build GEO business plan and report monthly on progress on all goal sets.
? Report progress of cross region assistance programs and cross region training.
