Senior/principal QA engineer-hadoop
Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to a fun, talented team of Software Development Engineers in Test to deliver high quality releases of our products and services. Retain and mentor members on team
- Design, create and manage the test infrastructure. Help the team with the automation effort by using/leveraging/porting tools to dramatically increase automation coverage and raise the quality bar of our deliverables.
- Assess testing areas, determine proper testing needs for ongoing releases, create and manage test plans for new releases.
- Analyze, investigate and triage the issues uncovered by testing.
- Work closely with product management, developers, support and partners to prioritize and deliver new versions of our products.
Requirements:
- Bachelor/Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputable university
- Have a strong desire for achieving high product quality and leadership skills to coach junior members to maintain quality standard and process in development
- Extensive(8+ years) experiences in all areas of QA, including test case design, automation, white / gray-box testing
- Strong analytical skills and experience with implementation and administration of software testing metrics, such as defect profiles and performance to entry/exit criteria
- Strong experience in collaborating across functional/geo teams.
- Experience with agile development process
- Working knowledge of Java, must have solid skills in testing Java products
- Good scripting skills in at least one common language (Perl, Python, Shell)
- Highly proficient in a Unix/Linux environment.
-Strong experience with at least one technology in Apache Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Pig
- Hands-on experience shipping production software in one of the following areas: database, business intelligence, analytics, parallel computing and distributed systems, nosql, big data is a big plus
- Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English. Comfortable working with US colleagues
