Job Title: Analytical Manager
Location: Beijing
This position is for an international reputable information management and business strategy solution provider.
Job Responsibility:
- To be responsible for the quality, consistency and output of all deliverables, including scoring, Basel II modelling and other business solutions
- To be the domain expert in all client interaction / meetings
- To be responsible for all aspects of the deliverable, including working with sales and/or project management, reviewing and in some cases preparing the project specification for complex analytics that are likely to be outside the experience of a Business Analyst or Software Consultant.
- To allocate resource, plan for project and work with the client deliverable at each stage
- To prepare strategic papers and management reports internally, or per request of a client
- To follow up and review to ensure models perform to optimal capability over time
- To support the sales process, being the subject matter expert. To be able to present confidently, to chair and control meetings so that the objectives are met
- To prepare and present scoring and software demonstrations and presentations
- To present technical and specialist contents in simple terms so that clients with non-technical backgrounds can understand the issues and benefits and therefore relate AABBCC products to their business objectives
- To build a team of appropriate size and skills to meet the demands and projections of business and clients in the AP markets
- To be responsible for all staff development / training – and career path development
Job requirement:
- Masters or bachelor degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics or Operations research
- Working language – Chinese and English; one of other AP languages is very valuable
- 5+ years experience of statistical/ mathematical project work. Specifically data mining and analytics, particularly in the areas of segmentation, Basel II IRB modelling, and/or regression modelling in a retail bank, telecom, insurance or direct marketing sector
- Solid skills with standard packages such as SAS, SPSS etc., and AABBCC proprietary tool such as MDS, STO
- Experience of data manipulation with large size dataset
- Project planning and controlling skills, ability to handle multiple projects
- Excellent writing skills, including writing sales proposals, analysis reporting and business interpretation
- Thorough product knowledge
- Ability to organize and prepare specification documents in an easy to follow and clear format
- Ability to interpret client requirements and documents
- Client facing experience – ability to manage client expectation
- Team leadership / Management experience
- Presentation skills - Communicating information of technical nature to non-technical clients, both in Chinese and occasionally in English
- Active listening skills
- Ability to elicit accurate information via a correct line of questioning
- Provide appropriate technical and business training to analysts with different development needs
- Coaching and motivating analysts to ensure a highly productive team
- Ability to identify key areas to improve team’s delivery capability
