The Role
As a Senior Manager you will be primarily responsible for developing new business, leading and delivering large, strategic client engagements and serving as strategic advisor to clients in your areas of subject matter expertise. You’ll also be asked to contribute your thought leadership to the overall development of the Benefits Business.
Performance Objectives:
Financial
Meet or exceed revenue and billable hours target
Achieve business success and contribute to profitable growth
Primary accountability for creating and executing a business strategy to penetrate the local and regional market and introduce new clients to the firm in order to meet annual revenue goal
Identify opportunities to cross-sell new products and services
Coordinate with existing sales and Client Relationship Management teams to identify, develop and close strategic sales opportunities
Build relationships with internal and external sources to maximize the penetration of key target accounts
Clients
Finalize and present quality deliverables to the client
Serve as the senior benefits strategist on projects, ensuring that benefits strategy aligns with overall human capital strategy
Establish a trusted advisor role with clients and provide consistent, superior relationship management
Lead and manage multiple benefits client engagements:
Develop leveraged teams that work together effectively
Develop plans for execution of large, global, engagements
Ensure project managers are maintaining team progress against established budget, timeline and quality standards (while you have overall responsibility, consultant level staff typically serve as day to day project managers)
Excellence
Serve as senior strategist and subject matter expert and ensure clients are regularly informed about the implications and opportunities that changing laws and regulations have related to their benefits plans
Perform technical review of work products
Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches to benefits plan strategy and management
People
Demonstrate extensive leadership ability by mentoring other consultants
Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
Oversee actuaries and other financial experts in the delivery of value added models, projections and analytics
Serve as mentor to project team associates
The Requirements:
1.Experience and success in the design and management of benefits solutions (ideally gained in a consulting environment)
2.A broad understanding of human capital strategy and the ability to contribute to cross-practice client engagements
3.Proven ability to generate revenue
4.Track record of success in managing large client relationships and leading global teams
5.Experience in managing multiple people and projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
6.Proven ability to recognize and diagnose issues, work in teams, and leverage the resources of other related practices to address client challenges
7.An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills
8.Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization
9.Proficiency in Chinese and English: required
10.Other Foreign language skills a plus
11.An undergraduate degree is required; Advanced degree preferred
12.An understanding of actuarial techniques used for quantifying, funding and accounting for benefit programs and/or an actuarial qualification would a significant advantage undergraduate degree is required; Advanced degree preferred
13.Significant progress toward ASA and/or EA credentials (or local country equivalent) is preferred; FSA, CERA & CFA credentials (or local country equivalent) are encouraged and a major advantage
