Position: Climate Change & Sustainability Business Development Manager - China
LRQA is looking for a candidate to join its climate change and sustainability team in China to support the development of new services. LRQA has grown its CDM validation and verification business in China rapidly over the past few years and we see other exciting new opportunities as China's low carbon economy develops.
Our key expectations:
· Prepare business plans to develop markets and new business opportunities.
· Ensure performance of new services against business plans
· Gather market intelligence to analyse market trends, policy stakeholders, competitors and customer needs
· Identify potential strategic clients and services, and select which opportunities to pursue
· Initiate and maintain strong relationships with relevant strategic companies, consulting firms, government agencies and other stakeholders in order to identify, access and develop markets
· Coordinate and develop business proposals ensuring that individual clients' needs are met and that resources are available for the work
· Prepare monthly management reports
· Act as a auditor and develop professional capacity in new and existing climate change and CSR schemes, such as CDM validation and verification, CSR report verification, and ISO 14064 verification
The successful candidate will have:
· Master degree or above in engineering or science, preferably environmental or energy related subjects
· Over 8 years work experience in China's environmental, energy and/or carbon industry, and a track record of leading teams
· At least 2 years experience in CDM validation / verification
· Experience in the process, energy or electric/gas utility sectors
· Good working knowledge of environmental monitoring, EIA, environmental management system, climate changes activities
· Native Mandarin speaker with excellent writing skills
· Excellent English speaking and writing skills
· Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a team
· Experience in project management and client liaison
