Position Title: Program Buyer/Supply Chain Specialist
Reports To: SCM Manager
Status: Full-Time
Location: Shanghai
Job Summary:
The Program Buyer/Supply Chain Specialist team member reports up through the Purchasing & Supply Chain organization and is responsible for identifying and sourcing purchased materials, components, sub-systems, tooling, equipment and services in Asia. Leads all procurement activities for their projects by enlisting fully capable vendors to ensure timing, cost and quality objectives are fully met. Responsibilities include: procurement planning, solicitation, source selection, and contract administration and contract closure.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Identifying, quoting, and sourcing for all battery cell and pack systems
· Supporting meetings related to North American transportation programs
· Develop and subsequently manage the Program Buyer (Sourcing) Plan (determining from whom and when), aligning timing, cost and quality to the objectives.
· Project Risk Management
· Work with the Project Leader to develop a communication plan, Program Buyer specific monitoring and reporting mechanisms, and metrics.
· Work with Quality team to ensure complete PPAP and APQP adherence.
· Responsible for providing all Purchasing costs in the development of the business case, both investment (supplier development, supplier tooling, supplier equipment, etc.) and production costs (direct material costs, etc.).
· Responsible for developing and maintaining a purchased part-tracking document for all purchased parts, new and carryover ( supplier, drawing release level, tooling kick-off dates, purchase price, tooling costs, supplier PPAP submission dates, etc.).
· Utilizes the Product Development System and other best practices.
· Reviews and understands contents of the Statement of Work (SOW), managing to all deliverables identified within.
Position Qualifications:
§ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Engineering with experience in both high speed manufacturing and prototyping within the Automotive industry.
§ Must speak and write fluent Chinese (multiple dialects) and English
§ 10-15 years of experience in Battery or Electronics Purchasing. Experience in plastics, powertrain, and stamping components a plus.
§ 5-7 years of experience in managing multiple programs and interfacing with multiple systems
§ Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with broad range of people across functions and geographies.
§ Proficiency in MS Office software and experience with document control
§ Knowledge of basic electrical principles required, knowledge of LI-Ion cell technology preferred
