Job description:


Provide expertise, consultation, and facilitation in the proper application of Decision Analysis processes to study investment decisions. Examples of this work includes the following: facilitation of framing sessions; understanding of international fiscal terms; construction of deterministic and probabilistic computer models; consideration of a wide range of strategic alternatives; and understanding the risks and value of various decision alternatives.
Participate on Profit Center and SBU teams (as a member, facilitator, or consultant) in the evaluation of new opportunities, exploration programs, and other projects with emphasis on Decision Analysis. Support development of the business plan and other planning activities as required.
Participate as a member on appropriate Profit Center, SBU, and Opco peer reviews, peer assists, look-back reviews, and negotiating teams.
Enhance technical competencies through classes, technical reading, and participation in new ventures and evaluation efforts. Develop and maintain expertise in probabilistic and deterministic economic analysis techniques, including spreadsheet modeling using Excel and DA modeling using Chevron,s SDA software.

Requirements:

Project Economic Evaluations: Demonstrated hands-on experience building and running economic models in Excel, PEEP, and/or GEM to evaluate upstream projects. Experience gathering meaningful and reliable information as input, and analyzing and interpreting results.
R&DA Skills: Experience and working knowledge of risk and decision analyses techniques, tools, and processes. Ability to build, run and solve models using decision trees and Monte Carlo simulation. Completed in-house DA training with subsurface DA toolbox and SDA software will be considered a plus. Motivated to learn and apply new DA techniques, tools, and software.
Teamwork: Demonstrated experience working effectively within multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to plan, lead, and facilitate team meetings. Ability to respond and adapt to coaching. Ability to participate in team discussion outside regular working hours especially with colleagues in different time zones. Working with others in a cooperative manner is essential. Experience facilitating DA framing sessions would be considered a plus.
Communication Skills: Clearly, concisely, and accurately expresses ideas both orally and in written media. Ability to create presentation material for others. Ability to present and communicate work to gain support. Experience and/or training using PowerPoint. Exhibits enthusiastic attitude toward DA as employee works independently interacting with DRB members, project teams, and leadership.
Industry Knowledge: Experience and working knowledge of international fiscal regimes (tax & royalty, PSA, etc). Knowledge of upstream oil and gas field development concepts.
Participation in SSTR and/or PEER reviews as either project or review team member. Experience with applying CSOC principles.
