Job description

The IBM XIV Storage System is a high-end disk storage server designed to provide consistent and predictable performance, high availability and simple manageability. The system is a collection of modules, each of which is an independent computer with its own memory, inter-connections, disk drives, and other sub-components, laid out in a grid and connected together in parallel using internal connection methods.

IBM XIV portfolio also includes another star product - IBM Spectrum Accelerate, known for its mature architecture, advanced grid structure and excellent management utilities.

XIV Function Verification Test Team is in charge of testing the whole system where both hardware testing and software testing are involved. Related testing activities include test environment configuration, test plan design, test plan execution, bug/defect handling.

By working in this team you will get first hand knowledge and skill in storage domain, which is key in this era of cloud and big data; you will also get chance to learn support service enablement on top of IBM support technology and on-cloud offering.

Requirements:

1. At least 3 years of testing experience in both hardware and software engineering, preferable linux background

2. Knowledge of SAN storage system

3. Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux operating system

4. Hands-on experience with networking

4. Scripting capabilities(bash, python)

5. Advantage - protocols(SAN/NAS, FC, SCSI, NFS etc)

6. Virtualization(VMware, KVM, Hyper-V, XEN) is an asset

7. Test automation is a plus
