BU Description

STG Lab Services and Training (LS&T) is a pool of highly skilled, experienced resources that:

- Improves business solutions for servers, storage and system Z

- Focuses on solving the customer's business problem by architecture designing, delivering, installing, optimizing, and providing skills transfers for solutions & applications which helps to sell servers, storage, and system Z.

The LS&T organization within STG that:

- Delivers advanced solution/application development services

- Performs IT optimization studies and recommends strategies

- Operates on-site or remotely

- Works collaboratively, complementary with STG, other BU and Business Partners

- Works on a billable, cost-recovery basis

Job Responsibilities:

- The candidates are expected to work effectively and professionally in providing technical services for STG products and solutions, from pre-sales opportunity engagements to post-sales services deliveries, in the areas of OpenStack Cloud Stack, BigData/Hadoop Analytics Solution Design and Tuning, Linux on Power Application Performance Tuning and Troubleshooting, PowerVM Virtualization, PowerHA Solution Consulting and Implementation, AIX/Linux System Management and Operation Automation, GPFS HA/HypwerSwap Active-Active/DR Consulting and Implementation and kinds of System Technology Consulting and Training Workshop.

- Capabilities of technical consulting, solution design and selling from architect thinking view.

- Practical in hands-on experiences, able to deliver on-site services including implementation and customer skill enablement workshop.

- Able to work independently with clients to identify and solve critical customer issues, while knowing how/when to handle or escalate critical customer issues.

- Act as a leader on all communications when coordinating with crossing teams (Development, Product Line, Sales, and Services) for critical customer support requests, ensure timely response and quick action plan to follow up.

- Innovative in developing new Lab Services' offerings and asset to align with the latest STG strategy and customers' needs.

Required Skills

Job Requirements (skills/experiences)

Mandatory Skills:

The candidate should have either

- 3+ years experiences on AIX, Linux, Oracle or DB2 Database

- Good knowledge on Cloud Products and Server Virtualization such as OpenStack/KVM/PowerVM/PowerKVM.

- Good knowledge on Big Data Products, such as Platform Symphony/Hadoop.

- Rich experiences on System Trouble Shooting, Performance Tuning and Solution Design

- About 50% Domestic Customer Travel as needed

Optional Skills:

- Rich experience on Pre-sales/Post-sales client facing technical engagements on Enterprise Systems

- Knowledge on any of the following product/technology is a plus

-- Storage System Technology such as Virtualization, High Availability

-- Networking Design and Implementation, Software Design Network

-- Application Development and Tuning on top of Websphere/Weblogic Application Servers

-- Cloud Application Development on OpenStack or other Cloud products

-- Hadoop Application Development

Qualifications(Education/Major/Certificates)

- Bachelor or higher;

　 - Excellent communication skill, fluent in both spoken and written English

- Quick learner, self-motivated and positive team player

- Certificates of CCIE, OCM/OCP, RHCA, ITIL is a big plus

Required

Bachelor's Degree

At least 5 years experience in Power

English: Fluent

Preferred

Master's Degree

At least 9 years experience in Power
