To align with IBM Cloud strategy, Cloud Solution Software team is targeted to provide best of breed workload aware management and cloud enablement for IBM’s servers, storage and network. We are seeking for talent to join in this team, we are focusing on the development and testing IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack Products.

IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack team in GCG STG Labs is responsible for IBM infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) Cloud strategy and architecture design. IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack is a robust Infrastructure as a Service software offering that simplifies management of your virtualized environment. It helps you convert virtualized environments to a cloud quickly and easily. Users can request and provision an environment quickly through an easy-to-use web-based interface. IT managers can monitor and manage this environment for improved efficiency and utilization of data center resources. IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack supports multiple virtualization environments, including VMware, Hyper-V and KVM as well as IBM PowerVM and IBM z/VM environments. Besides the product development, we provide strong technical support to IBM sales and service teams on designing and implementing IaaS Cloud solutions for large enterprises in China and worldwide.

You major responsibilities will be:

- Working with WW/local teams on product implementation. Being responsible for the design, coding, unit testing, defect fixing, and function/system testing etc.

- Working with WW/local teams to drive innovation during the full life cycle of development.

- Providing technical support to IBM sales and service teams to drive business increasing.

Requirements:

Python, Java or C++ programming skills.

Understanding of open source software and cloud community involvement are preferred

Knowledge on REST, multi-thread programming, design patterns is a good plus.

Knowledge and experience in Web programming, Dojo, JSON, Ajax is a good plus.

Multi-platform Linux/UNIX knowledge is a good plus.

Understanding of large scale enterprise software engineering and development process is a good plus.

For software testers, knowledge on test process, test case design, defect management is preferred

Good Virtualization and OS knowledge or background is preferred.

Virtualization(KVM, PowerVM, VMware, etc.), Cloud Computing Knowledge and on-hands background is big plus.

Excellent communication skills and be independent, assertive, self-motivated, creative, dynamic and open-minded.

Good command of English in reading, speaking, and writing.

Master or bachelor degree majoring in Computer Science or equivalent.
