Role Summary/Purpose
This position is to lead a motivated China sales team, 5 employees plus the third parties in mainland China and Taiwan to provide world-class analytical solutions for water quality measurement in laboratory/scientific market, as well as the pharmaceutical, environmental, semiconductor/display, municipality and other related industries.
Essential Responsibilities
• Manage the direct sales team and third parties to meet or exceed the revenue target with the goal of growing operating profit year by year
• Perpetuate and enhance a growth-oriented, customer-focused culture with a strong commitment to grow the business (revenue and profit)
• Identify new markets and develop short-term and long-term strategies
• Analyze market trends, predict and provide the market assessment prior to the annual sales planning process
• Set annual regional objectives to meet or exceed corporate plan objectives
• Define regional plan by territory and product line
• Implement the long-term and short-term strategies by utilizing appropriate resources
• Work with some Chinese government organizations such as the Chinese Pharmacopioea, the Chinese Environmental Protection Agency and the Chinese Drinking Water Bureau.
• Hire and/or terminate representative/distributor organizations as necessary to meet or exceed the regional sales plan and meet customers’ needs
• Prepare and update accurate sales forecasts monthly
• Conduct sales training and sales calls directly and with third party sales organization
• Review and report the market development periodically
Qualifications/Requirements
• At least 10 years of experience in Marketing or Sales in the related industries
• Bachelor’s degree in either engineering or science, preferably in a chemistry or chemistry related curriculum.
Desired Characteristics
• Advanced degree in either appropriate technical areas or business administration is highly desirable.
• An independent, self-starter with ability to travel extensively.
• 5+ years of experience of managing and leading regional sales teams with proven track record
• Excellent knowledge and ability to effectively work with various Chinese Government organizations
• An individual with demonstrated success in working collaboratively and developing strong teams
• A highly analytical and prudent decision maker with regard to the pursuit of profit and loss objectives
• Good public speech/presentation skills
• Excellent writing skills in English and Chinese
• Excellent communication skill in Chinese and fluent English
• Ability to understand and explain GEAI instrument operation and application
• An aggressive individual who is driven to succeed with the highest integrity, strong moral persuasion and always ethical with regard to both professional and personal conduct
• A resident of either Beijing area or Shanghai area is preferred
