Work under the direction of chemists on specific laboratory programs aimed at developing new product or new technology for architectural coatings. Participate in the planning of projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work as directed on development of new products or technologies for current and new applications, demonstrating performance for new products/technology, and general applications support for DCM R&D.
2. Assist in planning the projects and in determining the subsequent work program and implementation. Conduct the agreed program, communicating the progress of projects to the supervisor on a frequent basis. Provide basic data analysis on project results.
3. Prepare technical reports and memoranda as required. Present results at meetings as required. The standard expected at this level is that of good quality, unambiguous and suitable for internal circulation.
4. Prepare formulated samples as required.
5. Cooperate in maintaining cleanliness and professional look of laboratory.
6. Participate in relevant team activities.
7. Be fully aware of and implement corporate EHS standards.
8. Maintain clear and thorough records in laboratory notebook and CRI database.

Education:
Typically, the incumbent would have a skill level commensurate with high school or 1-2 years of post-Secondary School technical training.
Experience:
Over 2 years laboratory experience is preferred, but not essential.
