Founded in 2001, True Run Media is Beijing’s top provider of information about living, working and having fun in the internationally-minded community centered in China’s capital city. True Run currently publishes three magazines in print and online – theBeijinger, beijingkids and JingKids (Beijing and Shanghai).



Job Purpose 工作目标:
The Graphic Designer is responsible for the layout and design of the company’s magazines, including the design and layout for advertisements, websites, newsletters, and other company-related marketing materials and promotions. The Graphic Designer generally specializes in one brand, but will be asked to assist with other publications/products, and may be rotated to different brands as the Art Director sees fit.

In order to do this, the Graphic Designer must amass a deep understanding of each of the magazines’ positioning and target demographics so as to produce appropriate, high-quality designs and consistent visuals, and will be asked to work with the Art Director to compile and update a visual style guide of their current product.

设计师主要职责是负责公司所有出版物的排版和设计工作。其中包括了,广告设计,网站设计,newsletters,以及其他的市场部的活动和市场宣传的相关设计。设计师主要专注负责一个产品,但是也要做一些其他杂志和产品的扶助设计工作。并且视艺术总监的要求可以转到负责不同的产品上 。

为了达到上述要求,设计师必须足够了解每一本杂志的定位和目标群,以制作出恰当的,高质量的设计和统一的视觉风格。并且将被要求和艺术总监一起改版现有产品的视觉风格。


Responsibilities 责任:
□ Gather all product content materials for editorial, in-house ads, and client ads (text, images, events and listing information) from the relevant Editorial, Sales, and Marketing point person for magazine layout.
□ Lay out every issue of the magazine in a consistent manner, with great attention to detail and consistency, and creativity, when needed.
□ Design in-house ads and customer ads in line with the product’s visual identity to make the brand more appealing and help increase sales revenues.
□ Work with Marketing and Sales to conceptualize in-house ads that contribute directly to the subscription and sales indicators of the brand.
□ Take part in a visual debrief after every product goes to print, and apply feedback to future designs and updates in the style guide if needed.
□ Create and maintain a visual style guide and update it according to company policy.
□ Play an active role in keeping the department up-to-date with design technology and visual communication trends.
□ Upload the PDF file of the product to issuu.com, send the HTML code to the editors, and prepare all photos from the issue for online publication according to the SOP.

□ 保持统一的方式设计排版每期杂志,并且要注重细节和保持一致性,更要在需要的时候有所创新。
□ 设计出与杂志视觉形象相一致的in-house广告和客户广告,使杂志更具吸引力和增加销售部收入。
□ 和市场部,销售部配合制作出具有概念化的in-house广告直接促进该杂志的订阅和销售指标。
□ 在每个产品印刷出来后,参与视觉报告并听取反馈意见为了今后的设计和改版需要。
□ 根据公司的政策创造并维护视觉形象,根据公司产品策略不断更新。
□ 在保持设计部门的最新的设计技巧和视觉传达发展趋势上发挥了积极的作用。
