JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Description / Working Relationships
The project manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects in support of the Director of Building & Facilities ensuring consistency with school strategy, commitments and goals.
The Project Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for the implementation, tracking, management of the projects;
Responsible for the preparation work of project, i.e. make the plan/schedule, prepare
the drawing of construction, etc.;
Responsible for the project bidding work, prepare the bidding document, organize the
clarification meeting and site views etc.;
Analyze the tender document and participate in the evaluation of the project;
Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to
successfully complete the project;
Determine the resources (time, money, equipment etc.) required to complete the
project;
Control the budget of the construction;
Ensure the process/materials of the construction meet with the design and requirements;
Ensure compliance with the requirements of applicable accreditation agencies and
Chinese law and regulations;
Responsible for the coordination between different departments and schools
regarding projects;
Participate in any meeting as required;
Report any violation of safety regulations to the Director of Building & Facilities;
Fully research solutions, and review options prior to making decisions or soliciting
feedback from others;
Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the
successful completion of the project;
Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to
ensure that it meets the project standards;
Constantly present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions to the
project team;
Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs;
Project evaluations and assessment of results;
Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented,
secured and kept confidential.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Personal Skills and Abilities
Excellent computer skills; proficient in project management software such as Auto CAD, Project etc.
Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and an excellent team player
Able to interpret blueprint drawings and sketches
Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC certification is desirable
Fluency in spoken and written English is desirable
Experience successfully managing operations and maintenance work teams strongly preferred
Capacity to work independently and meet deadlines.Qualifications
Education :
College degree in M&E project management or equivalent.
Experience :
At least three years of M&E work experience, project management experience or a related field
Knowledge:
Familiar with the Chinese construction law and related regulations
Familiar with construction specifications
Familiar with the facilities of fire-fighting and related regulations
