China Sr. Public Relations Specialist
The Sr. Public Relations Specialist promotes awareness and secures coverage of National Instruments in various media outlets, including print, online, and broadcast, by executing strategic initiatives and managing relationships with influential editors, bloggers, and industry analysts. Key responsibilities include developing strategic positioning and ensuring the positive reputation of NI and our products as well as competitive analysis and trend tracking by monitoring news coverage. The Sr. Public Relations Specialist works with program teams, technical marketing, editors and other influential publishers, external vendors, and other media areas to accomplish job responsibilities.

Core Accountabilities:
· Conduct key public relations functions including proactive pitching, facilitating editor requests, building editor relationships, organizing media relations efforts at events, and preparing briefing materials
· Help execute marketing campaigns by setting PR tactics and advising internal stakeholders on the appropriate PR strategy to reach goals
· Analyze publications on which to focus media relations efforts; evaluate on a regular cadence
· Collect and stay aware of publications’ editorial calendars to secure coverage for NI
· Read industry publications (digital and print) to proactively identify news opportunities for NI
· Align PR and advertising efforts to tell a consistent story and position products in media outlets
· Provide public relations support and guidance on product launches
· Write and/or manage public relations content, including abstracts, press releases, Q&A documents, media briefings, and press kits
· Monitor coverage of NI and key competitors and share results
· Analyze the performance of public relations efforts and report on metrics
· Research and implement new ways to reach out to press and other influencers, including social media
· Work with external vendors as needed, including wire services
· Host editors at key events, including NIWeek, as needed

Requirements:
· Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a communications, marketing, or related field
· 7+ years of PR and marketing experience
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills both in Chinese and English
· Highly persuasive and influential
· Ability to establish and foster strong working relationships with internal and external customers
· Demonstrated project management skills: setting priorities, managing time, and multitasking
· Ability to work under tight deadlines while working on multiple, overlapping projects
· Experience in print and digital ads placement/monitoring and SEM is a plus
