职位描述

POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Engineer contributes to the achievement of sales objectives by ensuring that channel partners are equipped to position, sell, and integrate Zebra solutions that best meet application needs. To this end, the position has four primary areas of responsibility: (1) provide presale technical/application/software assistance for Zebra channel partners and end users in support of targeted account sales objectives; (2) serve, typically through a project's installation phase, as a key liaison between partners, end users, and Zebra to address systems related business issues; (3) drive field sales' continuing product and application expertise through the coordination and presentation of sales tools and training programs; and (4) protects and maintains Zebra's installed base of printers by conveying Zebra's product features, advantages, and benefits when called upon to keep competition from penetrating the account.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Pre-sales Support
1. Develop and convey a strong working knowledge of the Zebra product lines, application software, and utility applications.
2. Serve as the technical/application specialist for Zebra, channel sales organizations, and end users on targeted sales opportunities.
3. Make end-user sales calls in support of channel partners, Zebra sales, and other account influencers. In many cases, this activity is done independently of the Account Executive.
4. Coordinate relevant activities to ensure customer issues are addressed and resolved within agreed upon timeframes.
5. Serve as the product and technical liaison with Product Management and Engineering in the design of customer specific products.

Reseller Training
6. Conduct product, positioning, and application sales training for Zebra and reseller sales personnel. Utilize existing sales and marketing tools tuned to meet specific sales training needs.
7. Coordinate the design and development of training tools with Zebra training and product management/marketing groups.
8. Develop excellent working relationships with reseller organizations to build long-term support for Zebra products.
9. Provide accurate, timely, and relevant product information to sales personnel and channel partners.

Product Marketing
10. Monitor customer/market acceptance of existing products and programs and recommend modifications to product positioning as required.
11. Identify, assess, and communicate product application, placement, and sales opportunities to create competitive advantage for Zebra printers.
12. Work with Zebra product management/marketing in the development of programs and promotions that increase product sales opportunities.
13. Monitor competitive products and communicate insights to sales personnel and product management.

Program Administration
14. Maintain active contact with resellers' sales and technical staffs to identify and satisfy support and training requirements.
15. Maintain an account information reporting capability to sales management and appropriate internal organizations.
16. Provide management reports as requested.
17. Operate within expense and capital budgets.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. in engineering, marketing, or business administration or related work experience
- 3 years in a sales, product manager, or engineering role in an organization with Auto-ID products
- Effective presentation skills
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Solid understanding of Auto-ID applications/solutions, thermal/thermal transfer printing, networking, label generation software, applications software, and LAN and Host connectivity
- Willingness to travel 50% or more
