Job description

Corporate Credit & Collections oversees the credit and collections function for the Walt Disney Company. In this capacity it is the purpose of Corporate Credit & Collections to maximize profitable sales, optimize cash flow, and minimize bad debt loss by performing all aspects of credit risk analysis.

The Credit Manager determines and implements the appropriate global strategy for managing credit risk in support of Disney businesses. Keeps abreast of industry, market and business conditions. He/She provides overviews and alerts for high risk customers and vendors to The Walt Disney Company. The Credit Manager collaborates with Disney business leaders to mitigate risk to the accounts receivables and future revenue. Guidelines to govern global credit risk are established and implemented. The Credit Manager approves credit within global approval authority. The Credit Manager meets with customers to understand their business plans, credit risk and discuss risk mitigation. Service level agreements with Disney businesses are established and managed. The Credit Manager ensures Corporate Credit compliance with Corporate Policy and Procedures through credit risk assessments and portfolio management. He/She develops business cases, and implements tools designed to foster efficiency and effectiveness. The Credit Manager negotiates complex security instruments for Disney businesses globally, ensuring acceptable counterparty risk. Goals and objectives which support Disney business strategy are established in this role. Responsibilities include performance management, talent development, succession planning, and hiring.

Credit Review and Risk Mitigation
?Reviews and approves Credit Reviews and Credit recommendations within authorized level of approval
?Participates/leads calls with business leaders and/or customers
?Negotiates, maintains, and administers security instruments
?Collaborates with business leaders and/or appropriate executives to assist with crafting credit risk mitigation strategies, and development of control documents.
? Meet with customers and business leaders, to discuss risk mitigation, which could include Letters of Credit, guarantees, securitization, and/or deal and payment structure

Business Processes
?Maintain credit policies and procedures and recommend enhancements or modifications as appropriate
?Communicates process changes to Disney businesses to Corporate Credit & Collection team members to ensures efficient and effective processes
?
Ensure compliance with organization budgetary guidelines

Performance and human resource management
?Provide leadership and guidance on goal setting, performance management, talent planning, training, and hiring
?Ensure the Credit Team performs as a world class organization with the maximum degree of autonomy and accountability
?Fosters a team environment of empowerment and trust

Systems
?Lead in the development and implementation of new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
?Develop business cases and oversee project plans in support of systems changes or business initiatives
?Development and presentation of business cases in support of systems changes or initiatives

Reporting & Planning
?Leads the Credit Team to ensure the issuance of monthly of monthly and quarterly reports, reserve recommendations, Treasury Rep letter, Global Exposure report, as well as the preparation of credit portfolio reports
?Leads the Credit Team in preparation of ad-hoc reports to support business intelligence activities.
?Facilitates discussions with stakeholders where business cases are complex
?Participate in budget planning and control expenses within the plan


Desired Skills and Experience

Level and Field of Study
?Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance,Economics, Accounting or a non-business 4 year degree in combination with course work in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting

Work Experience
?15 years of management experience
?At least 10 years experience in financial/credit analysis


Skills / Specialized Knowledge/Competencies
?Strong working knowledge of process flows and understanding of database systems
?Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including enhanced ability to negotiate effectively
?Strong working knowledge of contracts as it relates to the management of credit risk
?Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal or external business leadership
?Strong working knowledge of security instruments and its intricacies and management
?Enhanced understanding of bankruptcies and other forms of business failures
?Excellent leadership, influencing & executive engagement skills
?
Advanced business presentation skills

Licenses / Training
?Competencies in Advanced financial/credit analysis
?Competencies in management of letters of credit
?Management courses relative to effective employee engagement (e.g. coaching for success, motivating team members, etc.)
