Role Description
Job Summary – (Role Summary)
This dynamic role is to take lead and become the key Social Media expert for IHG’s China hotels operation. This person will manage the roll out of key social listening tools and SOP to address social reputation management opportunities around guest review management & hotel operation optimization process. The role will also be accountable for developing and executing the hotel engagement and adoption of all Hotel Social Marketing disciplines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)
• Work with various Digital, Hotel Delivery and Operation stakeholders to develop programs around Hotel Social Marketing competencies
• Lead in all activities related to Active Listening, material development, execution, stakeholder communication and monitoring.
• Lead on the creation of individual hotel WeChat marketing solution – build positioning, functionalities and future optimization of this platform
• Work with regional stakeholders to provide effective guideline to IHG China hotels on social marketing media matrix management and content production
• Manage our key social media partners and vendors for WeChat
• Project manage technology, platforms transition, new platform setup and tool implementation for the Social space (i.e. Revinate, Brand Karma and Medialla)
• Be the lead regional conduit for global assets and tools, drive relevance and market readiness
• Be the knowledge owner emerging trends, technologies and applications in the social media space – seek out opportunities to apply them for IHG hotel level to drive guest love and revenue.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships across all functions at all levels to ensure maximum benefit from cross-functional synergies (global, regional corporate, ops, hotels)
• Contribute and eventually drive the planning of GC social platform growth and continuous improvement of Hotel Social Media competencies
Role Qualifications and Technical Skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education –
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Experience –
3 plus years progressive work-related experience in social marketing, advertising or communications. Hotel Marketing Communication experiences a plus but not required.
China social marketing, especially Wechat platform, experience highly regarded.
Technical Skills and Knowledge –
• Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large scale initiatives (multiple technologies, channels, etc)
• Be IHG’s Subject Matter Expert in Greater China social listening tools and practices, also knowledge of Chinese online travel reputation aggregation platforms and trends on social are essential
• Understand hotel marketing communication mechanism and their existing marketing practices via social platforms (WeChat, Weibo and Dianping etc.)
• Ability to consolidate ideas/opportunities, craft a proposal and pitch to stakeholders
• Demonstrate ability to develop detailed documentation on specifications and process in accordance to IHG brand or company standards
• Public speaking and training
• Ability to develop and present data-driven recommendations or results
• Ability to balance multiple stakeholders – internal, external, global, brand, agency, Social Media partners, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent, high quality customer-focused orientation, including providing clear, accurate information; explaining procedures or materials or providing supplemental information; anticipating problems or questions.
• Good command of English language (reading, presenting and writing)

• Independently directs the implementation of regional level social listening tool to drive revenues and drive brand love.
• Independently drive hotels’ adoption and engagement of social marketing tools and guidelines.
• Independently drive & optimize hotel social marketing competency build up and growth

5. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Majority of work is performed in a normal office environment.
