JOB OBJECTIVES:


- Scout for new EC Innovation Fields (NBD projects) that exceed EC’s current business and technology scope


- Support EC’s global NBD projects in A/P


- Create business by cross-selling EC’s existing solutions to new industries


- Coordinate and prioritize EC’s NBD ideation activities in A/P





MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


Scouting:


• Establish internal and external open innovation networks


• Development and maintenance of a target oriented ideation strategy in order to maximize the number of valuable ideas selected for deep-dives and eliminate the risk of missed opportunities


• Actively scout for new and emerging industries and potential coating applications in these industries and develop concepts, technology opportunities and business models for EC solutions


• Actively search for new technologies and concepts that may become of relevance for EC and NBD solutions (technology radar)


• Prepare business cases for these solutions


• Initiate, establish and manage related projects (incl. commercialization)





Support global projects:


• Contribute to global projects with knowledge about local trends, industries and technologies


• Prepare, launch and commercialize respective (if needed: customized) solutions in the region





REQUIREMENTS:





1. Education: Postgraduate degree in Chemistry, Applied Science, economics, marketing or related discipline.


2. Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience. Scouting, innovation and ideation skills are plus.


3. Technical & Professional Knowledge:


- Good team player with strong presentation skill


- Excellent networking capability


- Creative and open-minded


- Curious


- Entrepreneurial


- Excellent communication skill in verbal and written English is a must plus either Chinese, Korean or Japanese.


- Frequent travel Asia-Pacific is expected.
