Job title: Finance Director - China Finance Control

Based in: Beijing

Scope

Directly reporting to the GCR CFO, the finance director is responsible for managing the accounting operation, statutory and tax compliance of all Microsoft legal entities in China. He or She is responsible for the accuracy of financial data and information, for compliance with the US and China GAAPs and China statutory and tax regulation. He or She plays a role of governance across several domains, such as procurement, tax, accounting and treasury. He or She drives key financial processes like financial reporting, accounting operations and tax filing. He or She also drives the statutory and Tax structure/Accounting system change, statutory PnL structure change to support China business strategic expansions. He or She is the finance lead for landing global incubation projects in China as well as China driven expansions to ensure these projects are landed in China with proper financial infrastructure and in compliance with local accounting and tax regulations.

Core Responsibilities

Business Insight and Enablement - 30%

- Provide business impact to land new businesses in China with proper financial infrastructure

- Define the vendor leverage strategy for China expansion strategy

- Trusted Advisor to CFO and the China LT on a variety of matters, such as investment, accounting policies, systems, tax/audit, capex and cash management

Business Excellence and Control Compliance- 50%

- Drive an effective rhythm of the finance reporting for China, from monthly close to quarterly P&L and BS Review

- Lead annual financial audit. Excellent orchestrator of the many stakeholders and deliverables. Superb communicator within and outside of finance

- Ensure compliance with Microsoft accounting policy such as SOX and local statutory and tax regulations. Co-drive with Control & Compliance director the audit remediation plan and audit subsidiary scorecard.

- Co-Drive with Tax Director the tax issues for the subsidiary.

- Consistently execute against key financial processes on time and with great quality and accuracy. Improve business productivity and operations.

Personal Leadership - 20%

- Attract, retain and develop the best talents

- Provide leadership to a small team of people. Set directions and ensure clear organization roles. Foster a culture of accomplishment and innovation.

- Provide thoughtful leadership to GCR Finance LT

- Present effectively cross global and local functions, such as Tax, Trade, Treasury, HR, RE&F and procurement

- Apply virtual leadership on driving the changes

Qualification & Skills

- CPA or ACCA

- MBA preferred

- At least 15 years of business and finance experience in a dynamic, international environment.

- Very fluent in English. Great presentation skills

- Proven record of successful business partnership in a complex, matrix environment

- Great simplifier but strong analytical skills

- Courage and conviction, ability to deal with ambiguity

- Strong process and project management skills

- Strong P&L and BS management
