BASIC FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the localizing and developing Bath Furniture and related components based on appropriate procedures to define functional performance and reliability of products manufactured or sold by the Kitchen and Bath Group.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES

1. Works on localizing and developing Bath Furniture and related components;
2. Conceives and plans engineering subtasks to explore product or process problems; defines and selects new concepts and approaches to the design or development of new or improved products, processes, equipment or facilities.
3. Identify and build relationships with Chinese Bath Furniture suppliers.
4. Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
5. Coordinates activities with other functional areas, suppliers, contractors and consultants.
6. Translate kitchen concepts and drawings into actual products.
7. Be familiar with standard of furniture, kitchen, and bathroom.
8. Do drawings & BOM for actual products and supervise junior technician for this.
9. Work closely with Product Designer, Marketing, plant, Sourcing Specialist.


RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

1. Reports to the Associate Manager-Product Engineering-Bath Furniture, Kohler China.
2. Frequent contact with the sales, marketing, purchasing, operations.
3. External contacts with designer, plant and supplier.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor's degree in an Mechanical or related engineering discipline.
2. 2-3 years work engineering experience in kitchen cabinet or bath furniture.
3. Good speaking and writing skills in both Chinese and English to effectively convey information, express opinions, and motivate others to act.
4. Tailors presentations to the needs of the audience.
5. Demonstrates mastery of information and is persuasive.
6. Good communication skills.
7. Good understanding of woodwork; electrical parts, mechanical engineering knowledge.
