Job Description
Intel DCG DEG CPD is looking for an FPGA engineer for a new pioneering project. As a team, you will co-work with BIOS, SW and HW expertise and tightly engaged with customers. In this position, you will be responsible for understanding Intel provided IP blocks, delivering training to customers, troubleshooting issues and implementing new IP blocks.
Responsibilities for this position would involve but not be limited to:
- Creating emulation/Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) models from a Register Transfer Level (RTL) design using emulation/FPGA synthesis, partitioning and routing tools.
- Defining and documenting RTL changes required for emulation/FPGA.
- Developing hardware and software collaterals and integrating them with the emulation/FPGA model.
- Testing and debugging the emulation/FPGA model and collaterals.
- Developing and applying automation aids, flows and scripts in support of emulation ease-of-use and improvement of equipment utilization.
- Analysis design quality and provide feedback to customer's implementation.
- Assist debugging with customer's design and clarify issues when Intel IP blocks are used.
- Defining and developing new capabilities & HW/SW tools to support new programming models.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
- At the Masters level, a minimum of 3 years of experience with RTL/FPGA
- At the Bachelors level, a minimum of 5 years of experience with RTL/FPGA
- For either degree:
- Experience should be in logic design and verification.
- Experience in algorithm implementation in Verilog, VHDL or System Verilog, and FPGA-based prototyping.
- Experience in SW/HW co-simulation.
- Experience in programming using C, C++, Python, Perl, and/or TCL for tool automation or configuration generation.
- Familiarity with FPGA design tools used for RTL development
- Good English communication skills, both written and oral.
- Disciplined design approach, and ability to work smoothly with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- For either degree:
- 3+ years of experience in the SoC FPGA/Emulation function
- 3+ years of experience with System (SOC) level debug, especially in system bus or cache system.
- FPGA architecture specialist in FPGA vendors.
- Experience with delivering FPGA based product-grade solution.
- Experience with pre and/or post silicon validation
- Excellent experience with Altera/Xilinx hardware, Altera Quartus II, Xilinx Vivado, Synplify, and VCS is an advantage.
Additional qualifications and experience that would be useful:
- Knowledge of CPU architecture, general GPU architecture,
- Prior experience working with heterogeneous (FPGA, CPU, GPGPU) hardware systems,
- Subject matter expertise in a particular class of algorithms, e.g. speech, cryptography, compression, image processing, etc.
- Knowledge in latest programming model like CUDA, OpenCL and HSA.
