Position Title: Medical Affairs Manager, Primary Care Asia

?JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Purposes of Position:
The Medical Affairs Lead (MAL) of Primary Care Asia leads medical expert team to provide high quality medical expertise to Affiliates and partners in both China and Asia to support business development and growth, through developing medical strategies and life-cycle management strategies and their well implementations. The MA team establishes academic platforms and channels with Asian and Chinese academic societies in defined therapeutic and disease areas, and also ensures high medical compliance standards in promotional materials for all Ipsen and insourced products. The MAL assumes the overall responsibilities of MA team direction, management, delivering results, and developing and retaining talents.
Main Duties to be performed:
？ Leads the team to be pro-actively involved in supporting all aspects of product’s development and subsequent promotion through effective cooperation with business unit. Proactively participate in the strategic marketing planning process, and provide valuable medical inputs to achieve maximum potential of products.
？ Identifies medical opportunities in current trends of diagnosis, existing/emerging treatment options and unmet medical needs, find out/create the leverage points with medical evidence to them into effective product strategies.
？ Develops medical strategies and data generation strategy and programs to obtain new evidences to leverage product’s continuous development in China and Asia.
？ Led by science, work with Marketing on product strategies and provide medical resolutions for key issues and aligned medical projects and activities.
？ Plays important roles in company key business decision process, by making good medical judgments and medical assessments, e.g. BD, new product/pipeline planning.
？ Work as a liaison between China, Asia and Primary Care GBU Medical Affairs, and partners, to synergize China/Asia strategies with global strategy to maximize investments and impacts of medical programs.
？ Designs strategic partnering programs with top medical experts and medical associations to introduce new treatment concepts and medical progresses, improve treatment standards, implement medical guidelines, and enhance Ipsen’s scientific image.
？ Reviews and approves all external communication documents including all promotional materials to make sure all delivered messages are medically precise and consistent. Ensures medical compliance in educational activities.
？ Ensures accurate labels in representing all of our products in China and Asia.
？ Recruits, retains, and develops competent MA talents, and ensures result delivering.
？ Collaborates closely with all internal and external partners, to ensure team/affiliate/region successes.

Education:
- Ideal: Master degree and/or above with Clinical Medicine
- Minimum: Bachelor degree with Clinical Medicine
- Languages: Excellent both in English and Chinese
Experience (Proficiency):
- Ideal: more than 10 years of relevant experience (Medical Affairs) in pharmaceutical companies; 5 years of team management; Physician in clinical practice experience; Cross national experience is a plus
- Minimum: at least 5 years of relevant experience (Medical Affairs) in pharmaceutical company; at least 3 years of team management
Communication (Level / Nature):
- Internal contacts: Medical Affairs (China & PC GBU), Medical Quality (including auditors) and Clinical Operations, PV/MI, China PC BU Head, Product Managers and relevant people in commercial teams, Regulatory Affairs, Asia SVP and other Asian roles, etc.
- External contacts: Asia partners, Asian clinical KOLs and Medical Associations, Chinese and Asia clinical doctors and Medical Associations, CROs, etc.
