About Us

Customized Bioprocess Solutions (CBS), is part of the Bioprocess product marketing organization within Biotechnologies P&L within GEHC Life Sciences. CBS focus on customized process hardware solutions. The department is responsible for mechanical/automation and system design and project execution. Today there are approx. 20 people working for CBS. Linked to the team is also a global sales support function that supports sales and CBS with quotations for the customized solutions.
CBS designs and develops customized large-scale hardware solutions within chromatography columns/systems and membrane separations systems. The equipment is delivered to customers all over the world.
CBS intends to start up a similar organization in China, for the local market but long term also for other markets outside China.

Essential Responsibilities

• Design, review and approval of mechanical design for bio-process hardware.
• Design Concept generation, engineering calculation and simulation
• Provide onsite installation and manufacture support. Troubleshoot and resolve root cause and corrective action for field hardware issues.
• Develop product 3D modeling, engineering drawing with specifications
• Engineering analysis including structure strength and integrity, reliability, efficiency, material specification, manufacturing ability, safety, and certification and testing.
• Mentor less experienced team members.
• Be familiar with pressure vessel codes and standards regarding GB, ASME, etc. and design software.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or above.
Master with 5+ years’ experience or Bachelor with 8+ years’ experience from mechanical design in industrial environment.
Earlier experience working with PTC Pro/ENGINEER is an advantage.

• Good integrity. Able to speak his/her mind openly and get the message across.
• Prepared to travel often in China and outside China
• Project Experience in Bio-pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, or Food & Beverage would be a plus
