Our client is a luxury OEM in automotive industry worldwide
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Cost Engineering enables us to take exciting journeys as a business. Providing robust financial information and expert strategic insight, this key department helps drive profitable growth, allowing us to make further breakthroughs in the development of premium, luxury vehicles. We’re currently seeking driven people to join the team at all levels.
2. A career in this field will be as diverse as our business, and as rewarding as our vehicles are to drive. Working in a team with a global focus, you’ll develop valuable knowledge of automotive parts and processes. And just like our products, that knowledge will be of the highest quality. That’s why you should make *** your ultimate destination.
3. To join you’ll need to demonstrate an understanding of some manufacturing processes with relevant industrial experience. Ideally you will have knowledge of the cost drivers that make up a component cost. You will go through an initial period of bespoke training to enhance your Manufacturing knowledge and also on how to build up costs on key commodities. Willingness to travel is essential.
4. As a Cost Estimator, you’ll focus on a specific vehicle commodity - from Exterior to Interior, through Power Train, Chassis, and Electrical. You’ll be responsible for:
1) Delivering ground-up ‘should cost’ estimates for a specific sub-set of parts.
2) Supporting the Purchase team in their negotiations with suppliers.
3) Working closely with Design Engineers as a business advisor.
4) Identifying and supporting the implementation of opportunities to reduce costs.
5) Supporting cross-functional, cross-brand and supplier charge outs.
5. Providing more than hands-on technical support, you’ll also be accountable for:
1) Acting as a senior business analyst.
2) Actively leading technical negotiations with suppliers.
6. Excellent communication skills are vital, together with a proven ability to think on your feet and make appropriate decisions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE / POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Broad Cost Engineering Experience in automotive industry

4. Excellent level of spoken and written English.
