DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs analysis and diagnosis of highly complex networking problems.
2. Performs analysis of highly complex network designs.
3. Builds simulated networks in test labs to resolve highly complex problems and compatibility issues.
4. The NCE may perform any of the following components of the role breakdown depending on specific engagements.
5. Transactional Projects Project Engineering role:
1) Generates standard project documentation including detailed test plan for highly complex networks.
2) Generates network configurations from Low Level Design for highly complex networks.
3) Supports pre-sales activity for highly complex networks.
4) Plans and executes highly complex Network Upgrade and Network Migration activity.
6. Subscription Projects Project Consulting role:
1) Proactive Service & Support
2) Engages with customer on regular basis to help customer improve operational efficiency and delivery’s best practices
3) Assists customer with deployment and strategy of highly complex tools and related Network Management Systems
Reactive Service & Support:
1) Troubleshoots and resolves highly complex customer network problems across a broad range of technologies.
2) Acts as a focal point for highly complex network problem resolution.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE / POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Typically requires BS, CS, or University degree equivalent plus 6-8 years relevant experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
2. Expert level knowledge in TWO of the following and strong knowledge in all other areas of: IP internetworking, LAN Switching, Voice technologies, IP Telephony, SAN, DCN, Optical, IPCC; IP Routing protocols (IGRP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
3. Preferred experience in DCN Technologies (Server Load Balancing (SLB), WAN Optimization, SAN, HTTP, MPLS, and Data Center Networking Design)
4. Expert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment.
5. Ability to undertake support as designated Advanced Services engineer for large-scale networks.
6. Must possess strong technical account management skills.
7. Minimum 1 year of experience in Professional Services or high-level support.
8. Large-scale network design skills.
9. In-depth knowledge of network management, network availability and capacity planning.
10. Native Level of Language for country is required. English Spoken and Written Fluency.
11. CCIE is strongly preferred.
