Overall Project Architecture Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Senior Project Architects will be assigned to a specific area of the project to work within the project team responsible for the design and construction of that area.
• Responsible for implementation of all creative, show ride, and operational architectural requirements in the facility design packages.
• Ensures all creative, operational engineering and environmental architectural requirements are delivered in the construction phase.
• In addition to having a degree level qualification in an architectural discipline the project architect must have multidiscipline experience preferably in international complex projects and should have a minimum of 10 years experience.
• The senior Project Architect must be totally bilingual in English and Chinese due to the international nature of the project teams.
• The Senior Project Architect will report to the Director Environmental Design and Engineering through the Design Manager for the specific project area.

Design Phase

• Assists with the Design Manager in the overall management of the appointed Design Institute and in particular manages the production of architectural packages.
• Works other members of the project team and is responsible for developing an architectural design which incorporates creative, operational and other WDI facility design requirements.
• Works with operational teams, park operations, retail, foods, maintenance and security to ensure that their requirements are cost effectively incorporated in the design.
• Responsible for all developing and maintaining programmatic design during the design phase
• Responsible for interdisciplinary co-ordination within the architectural framework P Prepares and releases architectural design packages. Organizes periodic reviews and ensures that all relevant comments are incorporated in the design.
• Works with WDI project estimator to evaluate constructability economics
• Works with the statutory authorities to ensure that all code requirements are cost effectively incorporated in the drawings.
• Ensure that scope specification and drawings do not conflict with each other and that they represent the entire scope of work.

Shp drawings and Field Work

• Reviews S/R drawing submittals for architectural facility impacts
• Manage the review and approval of all architectural and related material submittals. Obtain approval of the appropriate project team members.
• Manages the coordination effort for the architectural disciplines in conjunction with the trade contractors and other WDI discipline engineers.
• Coordinates with WDI Show Ride team to ensure that updated information from Show Ride vendors is available to the coordinataion effort
• Manages the review process with the relevant operational representatives and ensures appropriate comments are incorporated in the shop drawings
• Reviews the shop drawings for compliance with WDI design intent.
• Verifies adherence with approved shop drawings.
• Undertakes quality control, field verification of construction in association with the relevant discipline designer or engineer.
• Responds to all architectural related Requests for Information (RFI). Prepares architectural design directives.
• Verify all programmatic design requirements are implemented.
• Carry out dimensional control to ensure integration of S/R installations eg show sets, props.
• Provide clarification drawing and sketches as required by the general contractor and subcontractors.
• Verifies food service engineering requirements
• Checks and verifies area development/infrastructure systems e.g. food cart utilities.
• Prepares the necessary documentation required for Safety; Occupancy; and S-R Final Acceptance Testing
• Ensures that trade contractors comply with timely delivery of as built drawings.
