The Position

Reporting to Project Manager

Description of the position: The Deputy Project Manager will be in charge of assisting the Project Manager on site in the overall management of the project.

Main responsibilities:
？ Ensure that project operations are performed in accordance with the Client and the Project Management requirements. (time, budget, quality, safety)
Management
？ Coordinate work with Client Site Project Manager.
？ Coordinate work with construction contractors (civil company, mechanical & electrical companies)
？ Project site team management (5 to 10 persons).
？ Follow up and control of the construction programme.
？ Liaison with local authorities.

Technical
？ Coordinate mechanical and electrical activities on site (include equipment reception on site and acceptance by Client, odour treatment mechanical equipment installation supervision, commissioning coordination).
？ Technical compliance to the Contract Requirements and the Guarantees.

Finance
？ Assist Project Manager on payment collection & financial control of the project.

Health & Safety
？ Implement VWS Asia Municipal H&S plan and procedures, if required in co-ordination with national, regional and client’s particular schemes.





Based in: Beijing

Mobility: Mobility will be required within China for future projects.

Candidate Profile

Education:
？ Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

Experience:
？ Minimum 5 yrs experience in the position of Site Manager on site or as a consultant.

Skills:
？ Working knowledge of Chinese rules, regulations, permits & contractor’s obligations.
？ Speaks, reads and writes English.
？ Good command of standard Microsoft software including Microsoft Project
