The R&D group of the Transmission and Integrated Photonics Business Unit is seeking a Sr. PCB Layout Engineer at JDSU Shenzhen site, Transceiver Development to work on the development of the next generation of high-speed optical transceiver modules. As a senior team member you will be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to multi-task while working effectively in a multisite development environment. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a world class engineering team and to contribute to the success of JDSU in this market.
Some of the main responsibilities in this role will include:
* PCB designs from specification to manufacture.
* Manage prototype PCB build within R&D.
* Liaise with PCB fabricators to resolve DFM or any other manufacturing related issues.
* Create and manage all PCB related documentation including schematics, fabrication and assembly drawings, BOMs, etc.
* Creation of schematic symbols, CIS database entries, and maintenance of PCB libraries.
* Work with the extended R&D team (electrical designers, mechanical designers), participate in engineering design reviews, etc.
Required Qualifications
* 10 years plus in a high tech environment with an expert understanding of printed circuit design, printed circuit mechanical design processes, printed circuit fabrication technology and methodology is highly preferred.
* Able to work on projects from concept to production release.
* Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
* Able to work on multiple projects independently.
* Experienced in working with PCB fabricators.
* Knowledge of PCB layout with respect to the following technologies is a plus:
Digital, HS Digital, Analog, RF/uWave, Mixed Signal Architectures, differential and single ended constraint driven designs.
* Knowledge of CAD & CAM as well as knowledge of manufacturability and testability requirements, component technologies and methodologies, and signal integrity being used in the PCB design industry.
* Proficient with the use of Cadence PCB design tools (i.e. OrCad, Allegro). Minimum 5 years experience using Allegro on designs with HDI and RF. OrCad CIS schematic capture experience is a plus.
* Familiar with multi-layer, mixed material, flex, rigid-flex, and tight spacing constraints.
* Understanding of the CAM350.
* Ability to supply full set of deliverables for PCB fab and assembly.
* Strong knowledge of BOM management.
* Knowledge of a PLM system such as Agile.
