Position Description:

Work under general direction to independently research, develop, and evaluate engineering data, conduct trends analysis, present training programs to internal/external customers if needed, and deliver technical support to customers to optimize operational efficiencies and enhance safety

Support the Boeing fleet in China to advance safety, increase reliability, and promote efficiency to meet increased capacity requirements

Collect and evaluate operational data (e.g. airplane performance characteristics, flight profile data, takeoff and landing performance, noise profiles, weight and balance, operations with missing or inoperative equipment) and develop methods for delivery of data in formats required by customers

Research regulations related to flight operations, develop required data, and evaluate suitability with customers and regulatory agencies

Communicate with customers to learn their expectations and seek optimized solutions for them

Participate in organizational activities of the aerospace industry

Maintain and enhance relationships with customers through exchanging information/operation data and offering proactive solution recommendations

Assist customers and the Boeing Company to prepare for delivery of new equipment and/or types of operations

Work with marketing and sales functions to provide solutions to customers and identify revenue opportunities

Undertake any other duties subject to change per management requirements

Competencies:

Bachelor’s Degree with a major in aero engineering or a related discipline, and at least 5 years’ flight operation engineering experience in the civil aviation industry or a similar experience

Possess knowledge of certain airplane systems and structures, as well as knowledge of airlines flight operation processes and procedures

Possess good judgment, extreme discretion, and flexibility in work hours

Possess a high standard of honesty and integrity

Able to be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment

Able to work well under pressure and to be comfortable working on all aspects

Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with customers/partners, internally within the team, and with management

Able to be a good team player

Possess professional skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Project, Excel, PPT, Visio, and Word

Possess strong coordination and presentation skills

Possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese

Able to travel domestically and internationally when required

This requisition is for an international, locally hired position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located. This job may be a Level 2 or Level 3 position, which will be determined by the level of experience and qualifications of the selected candidate, in relation to the scope and responsibilities of the position. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of any Boeing U.S.-based payroll.
