Role Description
1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary – (Role Summary)
Provide 2nd level functional & technical support to end users on the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) reporting tools, including resolving issues, answering questions on system functionality, interpreting report data, deploying to new users, training for new functionality, and assisting with requests for data mining and advanced analytics applications for the Greater China region.
Drive Business Intelligence (BI) value in the region, promote best practices and foster a strong relationship with the power user network. Create requests to modify reports and dashboards to present and deliver data based on user needs. Ensure new report and dashboard development requests have followed the appropriate governance process for development approval.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)
• Provide 2nd level support for questions regarding reports/dashboards, outline explanation and usage, and ad hoc report generation. Follow up with primary functional & technical support “power users” to provide updates on resolution, and to train them on new solutions or technology.
• Provide regional expertise on the outline, data quality, data validation and data flow of the implemented applications in Hyperion Essbase and other BI-tools.
• Upon approval and global prioritization, create requests for new or modification of existing reports and dashboards based on regional user needs, providing the appropriate presentation and delivery of data to the user.
• Provide regional support for the implementation and training of new functionality, and well as the deployment to new users. Ensure BI value in the region is well understood and practiced by promoting best practices.
• Develop training materials or work with vendors to translate training needs for regional users.
• Capture and ensure new report/dashboard requests or modifications to existing reports have followed the governance process and received proper approval.
• Provide regional expertise in reporting requirements to projects implementing new functionality, and provide system documentation for ongoing projects or reports.
• Promote the use of and drive the value of applications and associated reporting tools by fostering standardization and ensuring the global reporting suite is well understood and used.
• Promote and ensure optimal report delivery creating efficiency and effectiveness for end users.
• Provide support for regional security design and related access control issues. Gather appropriate approvals and create necessary requests for set up of new users.
Role Qualifications and Technical Skills
2. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education –
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, IT, Business or a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
Experience –
2-3 years progressive Hotel and Corporate reporting experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/technologies/processes related to the position, including development, implementation, and support of information reporting systems across multiple software platforms.
Technical Skills and Knowledge –
• Demonstrated experience providing functional support for Hyperion Essbase Add-In, Hyperion Financial Reports, Hyperion Web Analysis, and Oracle Business Intelligence.
• Demonstrated understanding of Essbase database design, OLAP, and relational database tools
• Some knowledge of Service Organization Control (SOC-1) audit requirements, in addition to laws and regulations governing company financial management and data warehousing.
• Demonstrated understanding of financial & operational reporting processes (including financial planning, forecasting & month-end close) and any impact on the BI environment to ensure overall smooth process.
• Demonstrated experience working with company financial data including data validation, quality, and data flow.
• Demonstrated understanding of company financial and management reporting including profit and loss, market segmentation, capital asset management, and related ability to analyze reports including all types of financial & operational data.
• Demonstrated understanding of processes and procedures in related environment and demonstrated proficiency to recognize and resolve problems or inconsistencies in reports or EPM applications.
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing and explaining information to clients, senior management, and peers.
• Experience in the hotel or hospitality industry in a financial setting strongly preferred.

Decision making responsibilities (Key Decision Rights):
• This position has significant impact on the standard reporting and dashboard suite and working with customers to enhance the reporting suite.
• This position has significant impact on the technical support of implemented business intelligence tools, processes and data in an assigned region, and on the timely resolution of related issues.
• This position has significant impact on the approval process for new reports and our adherence to Service Organization Control (SOC-1) audit requirements.
4. CONTACTS (Key Relationships)
Internal Key Relationships –
• This position will work closely with the following corporate stakeholder and business partners: Finance Business Support teams, regional FP&A teams, Revenue Managers, Operators, or any potential user.
• This position will work closely with the following teams to ensure standardized financial & operational reports are correctly implemented and maintained: Report Developers, other regional BIACs, Management Information Delivery (MID) and Production Support teams
External Key Relationships –
• Hotel user groups (GMs. FCs, RDFs, RGMs, Owners, Asset Managers, etc.) – to deploy the technology to these users and provide technical support
• Key vendors – to contract for services
5. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Work is typically performed in a normal office environment
• Some travel performed as needed to achieve Company objectives (generally less than 20%)
