HSBC Technology and Services (HTS) is a pivotal part of the Group, providing essential operational and technical support to our global businesses and helping improve customer service and efficiency. HTS combines global expertise and technology to help keep us ahead of the competition. As part of HTS, the China Corporate Real Estate (CRE) function provides professional property and technical advice to HSBC entities in China on matters such as the development of property strategies, portfolio rationalization, purchase and sale of property, technical requirements, engagement of consultants and CSR including fire and safety issues.


We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the CRE team as Senior Vendor Manager, Facility Management & Capital Project (18-month contract).


In this role, you will:

· Report to the Head of Corporate Real Estate China and have direct responsibility for the delivery of Facility Management (FM) and Capital Project (CP) management services, across the entities including HSBC Bank, HSBC Technology & Services, HSBC Rural Banks, HSBC Life Insurance and WOFE in the country. You will work with a number of significant external supplier partnerships as well as the property professionals from country and local CRE team.

· Plans, directs and controls identification, delivery and operation of FM and CP within the country in partnership with vendor providers.

· Improve management of Service, Cost and Risk with our partner vendors.

· Use Data / MI / Performance reports / Benchmarking to drive Continuous Improvement

· Develop Sustainable cost saving initiatives to demonstrate Value for Money

· Balanced by operational risk management with an emphasis on health & safety

· Oversee and drive Group standard FM and CP protocols within the country.

· Plan and manage FM and CP activity in alignment with Group CRE strategy

· Integrate FM and CP planning, processes and delivery with

- other CRE functions (Strategy and Transactions, Estate Management, Health & Safety, Operational Risk and Sustainability)

- Business and supporting functions within HSBC (Retail Banking & Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, Legal, Compliance, Procurement)

- External providers

· Ensure the strategic approach and best practice processes are delivered to manage Consultant Appointment, Budget control, Design, Procurement and Programming

· Standardises the planning, delivery, operational process for FM and CP within country. Support the utilisation of service providers for FM and CP, effective transitioning in of a more heavily outsourced and standardised model.

· To provide leadership support in respect of coaching and mentoring the current domain leads in the team on improving their approach to change, communication and relationship management skills and style.

To be successful in the role, you meet the following requirements:

Knowledge/Qualifications

· Qualification in real estate related subject and/or business, economics, finance, project management.

· Strong level of business awareness, financial/budget management expertise and team management and engagement skills within a corporate structure or similar.

· A comprehensive understanding of a broad range of real estate activities and issues. A thorough understanding of the country and practices

· Comprehensive understanding of how corporates operate, key challenges faced in the operating environment. High degree of expertise and knowledge in relation to vendor or facilities management within a real estate context

· High degree of expertise and knowledge in relation to analysis of vendor businesses including finances and customer base

· Strong awareness and understanding of HSBCs internal control and operational risk environment

Experience

· A proven track record in leading and implementing real estate solutions within a corporate environment.

· An experienced real estate professional with a significant experience gained from Facilities and Project Management within a corporate environment

· Proven ability to manage a large range of stakeholders and external consultants/contractors to drive best performance.

· Proven ability and commitment to high standards or customer service and customer relationship management

· Demonstrated results in managing a medium portfolio of vendors / supplier base

· Demonstrated results in delivering successful risk management and control processes across multiple functions

· Strong business and commercial awareness

· Proactive and resilient in a dynamic and constantly changing international environment.

· Strong collaboration and networking abilities to effectively work with other colleagues and departments within the bank

· Highly adaptable and be able to work in a dynamic working environment with a strong drive and be able to work under pressure

· Ability to navigate the Corporate Real Estate functions through change in the organization both strategically and operationally

· Role model and advocate for HSBC, acting at all times in a way that complies with the bank’s code of conduct, ethics, and stance on bribery

· Good command of oral and written English and Chinese (Putonghua).
