Description
In coordination/collaboration with the Theme Park And Resort Sourcing and Procurement teams, the Sourcing Specialist will be a part of a team to perform sourcing and quality control functions in China to support sourcing needs in our various Theme Parks And Resorts worldwide.
This position requires excellent language skill in both spoken and written English/Putonghua as the individual will be responsible for interfacing with his/her business colleagues in US/Europe and local suppliers in China. The individual has to possess a strong sense of quality on the manufacturing process and final product inspection. Due to the wide product range purchased by Theme Park And Resort, from lighting equipment, rockwork, animated figures to furniture and furnishings, it would be preferred if the individual has previous experiences on different manufacturing processes. The individual has to be self-motivated, possess drive, enthusiasm and be a team player.
Key Accountabilities
?Prequalify/develop new suppliers to become qualified suppliers of Disney
?Support the write up of the specifications during the RFP process
?Understand the business requirements from the stakeholders worldwide and translate the requirements to the local suppliers
?Ongoing vendor performance management to ensure they continuously meet our specification and quality requirement
?Conduct in-process and final inspection to ensure the product manufactured meets with our specifications before shipment
?Communicate any quality rectification to the vendor in a clear and precise manner
?Co-ordinate logistics and ensure delivery/shipment schedules are met
?Ensure compliance to corporate, local statutory and regulatory requirements.
?Demonstrate exemplary integrity and ethics in all instances
Critical Skills Required
Core Skills:
?Excellent command in written and spoken English & Putonghua. Ability to speak Cantonese is a plus.
?Extensive quality control and supplier management experience in China, preferably with commodity experience in theme park and hotel purchase.
?Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment
?Experience in export logistic is a plus
Industry Knowledge:
?Related industry experience procuring a diversified range of products and services
?Understanding the various quality control technique and methods
?Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Suite
Specific Requirements:
?5+ years quality control experience – preferably with multinational companies
?University Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Business
Other Requirements:
?Willingness to travel (mostly within China)
?Proven integrity record
