The Position:
At Synopsys, we believe that the low standards of quality, security, and predictability provided by traditional software development practices are unfortunate and unnecessary.
Our field application engineers educate customers on how they can proactively remove defects early in the development cycle by using Coverity Development Testing product, and lead customers through evaluations -- showing them how to improve software quality, security, and reduce the total time and cost required to produce high quality software. This is a traveling role based in the China; you will be supporting all renewals and inside/field sales representatives. This is an ideal role for someone wanting to move from support or engineering into a Field Application Engineer.

Key Areas of Focus:

1. Technical Sales: The Field Application Engineer develops a complete understanding all the technical aspects of a sales opportunity. Conducts and manages evaluations for prospective customers. Develops and delivers technical presentations and product demonstration targeted to engineers and engineering management at prospective customers. Communicates with customers, prospects, partners, and the Company to aid in the development of new products and features that meet customer needs more effectively.
2. Technical Account Management: Provides consistent, proactive, technical leadership and expertise to ensure the success of customer deployments. Measures and maintains customer satisfaction, while driving each account to enterprise-wide adoption.

Responsibilities:
? Develop and deliver high-quality product presentations targeting technical audiences
? Conduct on-site evaluations at prospective clients to open new accounts
? Design, verify and present Coverity solutions, including advanced product concepts, advanced integration proposals, future directions, and third party complementary products
? Communicate new features and enhancement requests to Coverity Product Marketing and Engineering
? Travel to new and existing customer sites
? Participate and represent Synopsys at seminars and trade shows.

Requirements:
? Proactive attitude, and a desire to drive to a technical win with customers
? Relationship building skills and the ability to cultivate technical champions within our customer base
? Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
? Team player with a customer-focused attitude
? 3-5 years of technology experience (in software or development tools) as a Software Engineer, Development Manager, Project Manager or Field Application Engineer
? Must have developed a significant piece of software in C, C++, C# or Java. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience as a software developer in C/C++.
? BS or MS in computer science, engineering, or related field
? Strong knowledge of both Unix and Windows platforms
? Strong knowledge of Scripting languages like shell/Perl/Python
? Basic knowledge of Build Systems (make, ant, maven)
? Basic knowledge of Source Code Control Systems (Git, ClearCase, Perforce, Subversion) and Bug Tracking Systems (Bugzilla, ClearQuest, JIRA)
? Basic knowledge of build systems (make, ant, maven)
? Familiar with Code Coverage tools (like gcov/purecov/Bullseye/opencover/cobertura)
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Regional language and English)
