Technology : LTE Small Cells – Enterprise/Metro/Micro
Job Description:
The Wireless System Engineer will be responsible for providing LTE Small Cells testing as per carrier requirements and performance criteria. Testing includes I&T, KPIs, new features and technology validation and benchmark performance analysis.
Candidate will also be responsible for E2E network performance test with pre-production HW and SW products from Qualcomm’s customers and licensees and will be working closely with Product Management, Customer Support Group, SW System Engineering, RF Integration team members within Qualcomm and OEM’s engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities / Functions:
-Perform testing as per test plans developed for measuring Throughput, KPIs, Latency, Interop, stability and performance.
-Create detailed analysis of performance data & make recommendations to improve already good to great performing LTE wireless network and user experience.
-Subject Matter Expert in how to detect and solve specific network and user experience performance problems (Eg: Latency, Coverage, Throughput, Interop, Accessibility, Retainability ,high buffering of video on devices).
-Detail oriented person skilled in working as part of a team
-Excellent presentation & communication skills are a must.
-Provide remote & onsite technical support for LTE & Small Cells customers in China region. Must be willing to travel and work from customer sites for troubleshooting and device bring up assistance.
-Analysis of reported problems, reproduce problems in the lab for issue troubleshooting and log collection, on demand on-site support in OEM labs for analysis of logs, traces etc.
-Assist OEMs to open SRs with root cause identification and problem description
-Solution of the problem or problem escalation to higher level of support
-Patches installation & acceptance test, etc.
-Able to discuss technical problems with customers, able to handle critical situations in customer's network onsite or remotely
-Experienced to work in international environment, willing and able to work with international teams
-Proactive, with analytical thinking, customer oriented
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in LTE Node B or Small Cell system test or Customer Engineering
University Degree in Telecommunications, IT or similar
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
General knowledge of IT
