Job purpose
Procurement function:
1. Perform tactical buying for Clinical service category according to Novartis SOPs.
2. Work with Clinical Category Manager to direct the utilization of Contract Research Organizations (CROs), Central Labs, and Drug supply Providers to assure the delivery of quality, timely and cost-effective external resources to support the Novartis Development pipeline.
3. Cooperate with other divisions at Novartis Group via supporting.

Major accountabilities
1. Conduct tactical buying activities for clinical service category for cross-divisional Novartis business units of Great China Region. Ensure sourcing transactions/activities are accurate and compliant with local and global SOP.
2. Negotiate contract terms, scope of work, pricing and payment schedules, ensuring that the agreements with the supplier are commercially advantages to Novartis, while minimizing regulatory, legal and financial risks through close collaboration with functional partner such as legal, Finance, QA and functional lines.
3. Produce final contracts/amendments and secure all necessary company approvals including compliance with local and global SOP’s, to facilitate execution of said agreements.
4. Perform Spend analysis and analytical insights to support Category Management Process via any/all analytical tools (i.e. SAP BW, excel etc.) and work towards standardization
5. Interacts with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers. Will be required to reach out to different stake holders, gather information and even challenge stakeholders
6. Ability to work independently, with limited guidance/supervision

Ideal Background
1. Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, or related commercial experience desirable;Pharma Development sourcing background is preferred.
2. 3+ years of working experience in Sourcing and preferred within pharmaceutical industry;
3. 1+ years of relevant work experience in project management role with basic management skills and project coordination experience.
4. Good communication and Data analytical skills.
5. Strong customer centric focus, relationship management with key stakeholders, persuasive, negotiating, proactive and can do attitude a must.
6. Good command of MS Office Tools (i.e. excel, ppt).
7. Knowledge in SAP (e.g. Basware module) is not required, but a plus.
8. Experience and success at working in teams and in cross functional roles.
9. Fluent Chinese and English are required, both in written and verbal.
