Biomanufacturing Engineer

Position Background:

This position reporting into the BioManufacturing Sciences Network (BSN) comprised of a team of engineers and scientists dedicated to supporting Merck Millipore's technologies in the biopharmaceutical industry in China.

The group is responsible for proactively pursuing and performing process development and purification of pharmaceutical and biotechnology process. The group is involved in the selection, sizing, optimization and design of purification unit operations.
The BSN group works with the following Merck Millipore technologies: bioreactor, clarification, sterile filtration, tangential flow filtration, viral reduction filtration, as well as chromatography. The candidate will work closely with sales and system design teams and also with Merck Millipore's field marketing. The candidate will be recognized by our customers and within Merck Millipore organization as a subject matter expert and a key technical resource, competent in all aspects of pharmaceutical and biotechnology processes.

Position Responsibilities:
?Support process development, application and implementation activities mainly for chromatography processes in biopharmaceutical process.
?Design and develop trial protocols and plan/schedule experiments; Carry out data analysis independently.
?Present results and reports to biopharmaceutical companies; Derive relevant conclusion and recommendations for future course of action.
?Coordinate project related activities and communicate project status and updates to all relevant parties on critical projects.


Requirements/Qualification:
?Education background should be Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology or Bioscience related disciplines.
?Strong background and practical experience in chromatography of proteins & biomolecular is required.
?Being familiar with chromatography principle and practical operation, such as Ion exchange ,HIC ,Affinity and size exclusion chromatography. Being able to operate AKTA system is preferred.
?Master must have more than one year or Bachelor must have more than two years’ practical experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology related field.
?Good presentation skills, computer skills and communication skills. Good command of English, both oral and written.
?Willingness to travel.
