- Bachelor's degree or above
- 3 year procurement experience in general merchandise industry in China
- Fluent business English
- Chinese nationality is preferred
- Familiar with procurement procedures and general sourcing strategy
- Experienced in providing support in supplier identification, evaluation, performance and relationship management
- Experienced in providing support during quotation assessment process and cost breakdown calculation
- Experienced in product sampling and testing procedures
- Familiar with product branding and packaging
- Familiar with general merchandise ODM/OEM contracting; negotiation skills is preferred
- Experienced in order management (including expediting and quality control)
- Experience in logistics and cost breakdowns is preferred
- Experienced in monitoring the market environment and identifying new opportunities

Optional
- Access to wide network and resources of pre-qualified suppliers and other service providers is preferred
- Familiar with South Africa/Africa import procedures will be a bonus
- Knowledge of multi-products across the general merchandise category is preferred
- Experience in FMCG industry will be a bonus
- Knowledge of existing supply relationships for GMD goods between Chinese suppliers and large western retailers (Wal-Mart, Tesco, Carrefour, etc.) will be beneficial
