Position: VW Brand PR & Communications
Division/Department: PR & Communications
Location: Beijing
Main goals and objectives:
This position is in charge of planning, developing, implementation and evaluation of VW brand PR & communication strategy and concept in China:
- Strategic planning of VW brand PR jointly with VW brand marketing, product marketing, R&D and WOB PR
- Cross coordination of VW brand PR departments among JVs, VW Import and WoB PR, to ensure synergies and consistency in PR & communications
- Maintain a VW brand PR and communication central archive
- Manage and support VW brand media events, e.g. auto show, PCO, think blue, media open day, media workshop etc.
Your Responsibilities:
1. In charge of establishing and conducting VW brand PR & communication strategy, planning and implementation:
- Based on the market analysis, internal depts’ insights especially brand marketing / R&D / product marketing / WOB PR, work out the PR and communication strategy for VW brand for the coming years
- Enhance VW brand image among in media, General Public and customers
- Develop, align and communicate the key message for executive’s interviews, and press releases, editorial articles, for VW brand
2. In charge of cross coordination of VW brand PR depts. among JVs, VW Import and WOB PR, to ensure synergies and consistency in PR & communications:
- Ensure the precise and consistent messages alignment
- Manage and coordinate efficiently the daily info exchange / sharing with VW brand PR teams of JVs, VW Import and WOB PR
- Maintain the professional media relationships with core automotive media for their advocacy toward VW brand in the articles
- Ensure a harmonized PR calendar for VW main product launch events of both JVs and Import cars
3. In charge of a VW brand PR and communication central archive
- Act as the info source and contents provider for all VW brand PR communications
- Prepare PR & communication contents and press release for VW brand
4. Manage and support VW brand media events
- Develop and implement the PR concept and events at auto shows which are VW brand related, e.g. group night, press conference, booth
- Support VC-4 on brand marketing campaigns, e.g. PCO, Think Blue
- Plan, manage and implement PR driven events for media, e.g. media open day, media workshop, media tours at R&D and plants
- Prepare the master Q & A, briefing book, press release, product release and align the key messages with internal stakeholders
Our Requirements:
Necessary education:
? University degree in communication, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field.
? MBA is appreciated
? Knowledge and experience in automotive industry and market
Personal skills:
? Solid experience in brand management and PR communication
? Strategic / analytic thinking
? Basic leadership skills with decisive character
? Rich project management and time management
? Strong Interpersonal communications
? Strong cross functional management skills
? Strong sense of responsibility
? Strong sense of self-motivated
? Effective and efficient working habits
? Presentation skills
? Pursue perfection into details on the daily workings
Working experience (in years):
? 8 years of brand mangement and PR communication
? 5 years of working experience in automotive company
Remarks (Language, IT-Knowledge, Certificates etc.):
? Fluent in writing and speaking of Chinese and English
? German language is a bonus
? Experience of issue and crisis management
? Excellent skills at Word, PPT, Excel, Online media technology
