We have an on-premise installation accessed only internally and an externally hosted one accessed both internally and externally. Though it’s a commercial product, there are a lot of things to do to meet our requirements. For example, 1) all communication needs to be archived for regulatory reasons; 2) Investment Banking Division and Research Division must be segregated
? An open source wiki platform named TWiki (http://twiki.org)
Written in Perl, running on Linux
We are one of the biggest installations of TWiki having 10 thousand wiki sites and 1 million pages. It’s used as the web content repository of choice by many IT teams. We are actively contributing to the open source project so that features we want and implement become part of TWiki. Otherwise we need to apply our local enhancement when we upgrade to a new version. Enhancements we implemented and contributed are: 1) Scalability feature to support thousands of sites and users by one installation; 2) Making each wiki site autonomous; 3) Federate multiple installations by mirroring contents each other
? Google Apps
Support infrastructure is written in Java and Linux, running on Linux
It’s not at all trivial for a financial company to use cloud based services. We cannot afford to unauthorized access especially because high level confidentiality and data security are required by regulators. For example: 1) Synchronize internal accounts and groups with Google ; 2) Users are authenticated by Google Apps through propagation of internal identity; 3) Email receiving delay is monitored every 5 min to raise an issue promptly, which is to meet users’ expectation
As a member of the team, this person will work on some of those applications.
Qualifications:
? Very good at least either Java or Perl – being able to answer questions on Stack Overflow and familiar with recent developments of those languages
? Have a solid foundation with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS – being able to customize existing web application frontend
? Very familiar with Unix – knowing Unix file system semantics, socket programming, system calls versus library functions
? Have a solid foundation with relational database – what exactly is the relational model, primary key, trade off of indices
? Good English writing skills – for both documentation and discussion

? Git and Subversion
? Google, Facebook, Twitter, and other web application APIs
