Job Summary

A successful candidate will be a member of an international regulatory department and work with all Tyco Security Products brands to achieve market access into the Asian Pacific markets. For the first six months to a year, the successful candidate will manage the local compliance efforts for these markets by working with the global Tyco team to complete and submit necessary applications, acquiring and preparing test samples, support the local lab during testing, and finally managing invoice payments. After this time, additional responsibilities shall be given including leading Tyco Codes and Standards efforts for Security Product, supporting factory inspections, and assisting as needed in the regulatory efforts of Tyco’s local vendors.

Primary Functions:

Help develop China compliance program across all Tyco Security Products [30%] [0%]
- Assist in determining which regulations apply
- Support development of procedures to improve the compliance efforts of the global regulatory teams

Support compliance efforts across all TSP brands [30%] [20%]
- Complete applications
- Prepare test samples
- Support test labs during setup and testing
- Work with customs officials to clear shipments
- Manage invoice payments within TSP

Provide support for internal customers [10%][10%]
- Provide regulatory requirements for specific product/project
- Provide estimates for cost, time, and sample required for approval

Support Regulatory Dept Goals [10%][10%]
- Track local metrics
- Develop relationships within TSP, vendors, and contractors (test labs)

Lead Security Products codes and standards efforts [20%][60%]
- Participate in the One Tyco codes and standards group for APAC
- Assist in developing APAC approvals strategy
- Keep team members informed of changing trends within APAC compliance
- Become involved with technical committees developing new regulations

Technical Skills:

- Must have solid technical background with experience with intrusion, access control, or video surveillance technologies
- Experience with CCC, WPC, SRRC, MII, KC, BSMI, or PSB testing a plus
- Knowledge of wireless and/or telecom technologies a plus

Personal Skills:
- Strong written and oral communications
- Experienced project management skills
- Ability to work independently and self-educate
- Effective relationship and influence building

Job Requirements
- B.S. Engineering (MS Preferred)
- 10+ years related experience
- Fluent in English



INTERNAL
? It is expected any candidate will have limited knowledge of the products and will not reduce the workload for product management greatly during the first year.
? Given the broad spectrum of approvals required across the multiple brands, it is also expected that any candidate will have limited knowledge of all approvals process and will require PMM support for the first three-six months.
? To be effective on the codes and standards groups, the individual must have a solid technical background within security products and must be able to develop relationships within the regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will develop a strong influence in the local industry through effective relationship building.
