Global Operations Finance, the GE China Corporate Finance CoE team, with a scale of more than 500 people, was established in May 2012. Aiming to bring together a team of excellence worldwide. GOF builds and executes world-class processes across the company ( including source to pay, fixed assets, record-to-report, invoice-to-cash, customs, payroll, T&L, stat-to-tax) to better serve GE business operations in and beyond China.
Essential Responsibilities
• Co-ordinate the review and documentation of G2S adjustments and financial statements of APAC non-Global Ops managed/serviced entities in alignment with global mandate of 100% ownership of all Industrial Stat filings
• Facilitate the Statutory filing process within the APAC region which may include (but not limited to);
• Coordinate with various stakeholders (Global Ops Finance Stat, Tax, GGO, Business and external) to mitigate Stat filing issues
• Ensure alignment with MAP 20.30 requirements in terms of timelines and metrics completion (eg. eCompliance etc) by collaborating with relevant stakeholders
• Support development of structure and rigour for 2-way accountability rhythm with businesses
• Assist in the publication of metric dashboards to enable 2-way accountability with businesses
• Work with system (STIR, GRT, eCompliance, etc) teams to ensure correct set up and representation of business data landscape and information
• Periodic involvement with KPMG teams to coordinate the provision of business data from global repository tools
• Periodic support to countries who have resource challenges
• Conduct post mortem de-briefs sessions to identify challenges and improvement opportunities for the Statutory filing cycle.
• Drive simplification initiatives through process of identification, analysis and action (eg. Rationalize G2S adjustment numbers, LE/ME reduction, etc)
• Support Regional Process Leader in the coordination of regional initiatives related to Enterprise Standard and delivery model adherence – hub migration activities
• Other ad hoc activities associated with the S2T Enterprise Standard agenda
Qualifications/Requirements
• University degree in accounting, preferably CPA or local country certification
• Strong knowledge in Local GAAP/IFRS, statutory reporting requirements , understanding of US GAAP
• 4+ years of previous finance/controllership/Big 4 related experience
• Audit background preferred
• Strong English communication skills
• Basic level of tax knowledge preferable
• Ability to work with different stakeholders and team player
• Quick learner and pro-active – able to grasp new concepts and processes quickly
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Good project management skills is a plus
• Experience identifying process improvements, embrace change
